What ways are there to boost domain authority?

Hi,

My team and I have been working on finding new ways to boost the authority of our domain for a while now, but it seems like among guest posting and sponsored posts there really don't seem to be any other ways to acquire mid-high DA links.

Our current DA is not high enough where we can suggest link exchange with other sites so I'd like to know if you know any other way to promote DA growth without resorting to blackhat tactics.

    Guest posting is only one way to get backlinks and amongst all ways is perhaps the weakest of them all. Google knows it is a link that is being placed by the author, himslef, and not actually being placed by the other website.

    Far more effective link building methods include:

    - Getting links through HARO
    - Broken link building
    - Resource page link building
    - Building power pages
    - Link reclamation
    - Getting competitors' backlinks

    One of the best ways for me was to attend shows / expos and get links from the host; of course, this also depends on the industry but there are shows / expos in many niches; another good thing about it is that you will make "real life" connections and extend your network (of potential link givers); another very good source for high authority backlinks are chambers of commerce; sometimes they have membership directories with follow links that can boost your metrics

      You know Domain Authority is a MOZ invention whose sole reason for existing is to get MOZ richer?


      Did you know that etsy.com will never have a perfect Domain Authority? (Because it's too short. Yup, short domain names are ref-flags, one of the 20+ criteria MOZ decided to use).


      If you're a brain doctor and decide to create a site about brain surgery, MOZ will not give you a high domain authority rank if you do not have a lot of visitors, if your domain name is short, or too long, or one of a dozen of so criteria many of which have nothing to do with authority.

    Why do you want to increase it for? DA is not used by any search engine to rank sites.

    Expire domain can help you in boosting your DA. Get the expired domain that is still getting traffic and redirect it to your money-making website or you can also redirect it to your testing website and pass the link juice from there.

      hi, not sure, if you actually mean that quality content will determine the number of backlinks and social shares; you can also build good backlinks and get (fake) social shares for crappy content...but I would absolutely agree that great content will help you to acquire good backlinks, maybe more than anything else

    Although it takes time, I have found maintaining a blog on your site will definitely help. Posting useful content (min 500 words) seems to work best. It won't hurt to publish those posts to your social accounts. IFTTT makes that easy (I always avoid plugins when possible).

    Try to get content based backlinks .... Backlinks should be natural in bot's eyes. Actually we do not consider on DA mainly but if you want to increase your website DA then choose websites who have high DA than your and related to your niche market.

    Along with guest posting, you'll also need high-quality content to help increase your DA. I feel like that gets overlooked at times. Whatever pages you're building guest posts to, you should also be looking to either refresh the content on that page or create one for your target keyword.
