Hey Guys:

Been a while since i posted and i wanted to know if article marketing is still an effective way to boost site authority and build links. If not, what other methods are people using to build link juice nowadays besides guest blogging?

Content is still a 'thing' - but 'article marketing' is not the same as it was nine years ago when you last posted. The article directories that were recommended then are almost invisible now - that's just one change.

My suggestion is to read this SEO section and perhaps threads in the main section as well to catch up with how sites are built and promoted now. Many more options available than we had ten or so years ago.

I am in the same boat.

Totally stunned coming back after the gap of 9 years.

Forums are almost dead another change I noticed.

Yes, it is and it is effective. Article directory marketing (what most people call article marketing... posting on Ezinearticles.com and such), that is not working well any more.

Then, what would be considered article marketing if not put in the ezine directories then?

People do not think things through.

Putting an article in an article directory does little for you; having an article published in 34891 sites, with back links, is a a whole different story.

People forget the syndication part of article marketing.

There are some other methods people use nowadays for Guest blogging:
    - Replicate your competitors' SEO backlinks.
    - Use the broken link-building strategy.
    - Try to regain missing backlinks.
    - Build links with images.
    - Write guest posts.
    - Get on "best of" lists.
    - Connect with other industry experts.

How guest posts are effective compared to homepage backlinks which were mostly popular few years back. Because the blog post page from which their is going to be backlink published is mostly likely having no backlinks itself.

Guest Posting is also a new thing which I noticed.

Content marketing is the spine of any business . Even if you are producing short value packed engaging videos consumers will buy in .

Article marketing is a form of advertising I e your store front .

So yes content publication is still useful and relevant . The reason being is that the consumer is always looking for answers and solutions which your content can provide .

Yeah, Article marketing is still effective if done the correct way. If you do it just for backlinks in bulk then it will not work any more.

Aside from article marketing by placing them in directories like ezine articles, what are the other ways of article marketing?

Write an article, post it on your site. Call other site owners and ask them (pay them) to put the article on their sites.

      Here's Neil Patel's guide to it... https://neilpatel.com/blog/the-step-...g-up-your-seo/

Not linking directly as I do not want to give him a backlink... I do not agree with all he says in the article (for instance, the duplicate content position he takes). I give it to you as a good-enough starting point.

The skyscraper technique, if done well, can get you backlinks equal to article marketing.

Backlinko's page on the skyscrpaer technique.

No, depending on your competition and your keyword it's still an easy way to get some exact match anchor text links to your site, and for some narrow niches that can be enough

As far as article marketing these days: the game has changed, it is all about AI now to be honest with you. Only the most skilled and creative writers will survive this too IMO.

    Peace.

I think writing articles is a good idea if they are studded with the right keyword density. After all Internet search still proceeds from keyword usage. Keyword research has to be the primary thing in the mind of the marketer while using article directories.

Article marketing was taken over by guest posting. You shouldn't submit anymore to article directories, because they are dead. Instead, submit your article to niche relevant high authority blogs that make it possible - either for free or for a fee.

An article of 1500 words, which contains detailed information about your products and services, which helps in bringing organic traffic to the website by forcing the user to visit your website. According to Knowledge submitting articles in Seo is an important task.
