Hi fellows, I hope you are doing well and busy with your projects. I have a client whose business website was hit by google in a recent content update and after 3 months of working still, we are unable to recover website traffic. We started creating backlinks and changing the content. Also, we have removed some toxic backlinks and had a gap of a minimum of 1 month from off-page SEO.
I would love to hear your ideas and expertise in the field. (mod edit )

You should do a full on-site audit, also check your loading speed in google insights + check your backlink anchor text profile you should go 1/5 / keyword link

Sorry but this tells us nothing. What kind of backlinks, specifically? What kind of "blow me away" content did you create to earn those backlinks? How did you let other sites know about this amazing, "I have to link to it" content?

Far too often, I see places that claim to "specialize in SEO" disavowing bad links only to replace them with equally bad or worthless links.

We creted all foundational backlins, such as social bookmarking, profile backlinks, forum backlinks, local citations, comment backlinks, image submission, web 2.0s, etc..

None of those links will do a thing for you for SEO. Those methods have not worked for more than a decade. Some of them may provide a bit of targeted traffic but none of them will help your website rank better.

I absolutely guarantee you that the problem is linked to the response the O.P. made, above.

If that's what you think "fixes" a backlink profile, I only have to wonder what you think makes it bad.

IMO, There are some steps you can take to recover your website traffic after a Google update. Some of them are:

    1. Don't panic, and check if an update affected your site.
    2. Use data to identify content that needs improvement and improve its relevance and authority.
    3. Conduct competitor analysis and see what they are doing better than you.
    4. Revisit your technical SEO basics and make sure your site is fast, secure, and mobile-friendly.

Click the three dots in the top right corner of an open Chrome window.
    Hover over "History."
Click the first option on the drop-down menu under "Recently Closed" to open the last window you shut. ...
    Click on "Restore Window."

I think the time has come when we need to realize that G and other search engines are not interested in our websites beyond to what serves their business interests.

    What are their business interests?

They want to serve the right content to their users. That's it!

Now its upon us to tell G and other SEs that our website is worth their crawling time and presents knowledgeful and useful content especially when their are already well-established competitors are present in the niche.

So, how can we do it?

My suggestion is to make webpages crawler friendly and employing users first approach because now with modern techniques crawlers are getting closer to the understanding and experience of human users.

You have been penalized because of your low-quality content, recently google content update was about Ai content if you aren't matching the user intent then you will not able to rank for more time.
    • Analyze your keywords
    • Search them on Google
    • See your competitor's Title Tag
what they are using is a list post if more of your competitor is using list post then change your article and start creating backlinks for the blog post

use surfer SEO to check the length and keyword density for this particular post and give a short.

You do not know that the content is low-quality, just that it's different from what it used to be.

You do not know whether they used AI or not. It's not addressed.

Google, as per Google, does not penalize AI content because it's AI content.

Lastly, what on earth does analyzing their keywords, searching for them on Google and on competitors' title tags do?

What does length have to do with anything?

Do you know how SEO works? Not being mean, but if all you had to do is these three things, everybody'd be #1 in Google. Which is not possible. So?

If your client's website affected recently it means website is using either duplicate or content with no value. Keywords stuffing can also be a reason. You need to take many steps to recover website ranking and traffics.

First of all audit complete website to check all issues.

Then fix those issues ..... According to me main issue will be related to content, so either remove (if duplicate) or write informative contents according to keywords. You also need to fix technical SEO issues along with spammy backlinks issues, if existing.

Submit website for reconsideration .... Write brief details that what you did to fix existing issues.

And main thing is patient .... Dont do lots of things like create many backlinks without remove existing spammy backlinks ..... Create many other contents without remove duplicate or no value content ..... In short after fix all issues you need to wait for a while.

    Hi,

My name is Moise Legrand and I live in France. [link removed by moderator] Like many other site owners, after the recent update of the search engine algorithm, my site also lost its position in the search results.

However, thanks to our joint efforts with the SEO department, we were able to restore our site's position in the search results. Here are some of the actions we have taken to do this:

Updated the content on the site: We updated the texts on the site, added new pages with content that was more relevant to our audience and increased the number of keywords.

Improved technical optimization: We conducted an audit of the site to make sure that it meets all the requirements of search engines. We have also improved the page loading speed and fixed all the errors that were identified.

We have worked out the external links strategy anew: We have worked out the external links strategy so that it is more natural and of high quality. We have removed unnecessary links and added new, more relevant and authoritative ones.

Made the site more user-friendly: We have improved the user experience of our website so that users can quickly and easily find the information they need. This included redesigning, improving navigation, and adding new features.

Social networks: We actively used social networks to promote our website, published interesting and relevant content, participated in discussions and communicated with our audience.

These actions helped us to restore the position of our site in the search results and improve its visibility. I hope that these tips will be useful for you as well.

    With respect,
    Moise Legrand.
