  • Tags play a significant role in SEO, although their importance may vary depending on the specific tag and search engine algorithms. While Google's algorithms have become more sophisticated, tags still hold value in optimizing website content.
    such as
    1. Meta title
    2. Meta description
    3. header tags
    4. image alt tag
    5. schema markup
While the exact weight of tags in Google's ranking algorithms is not publicly disclosed, they still contribute to overall SEO efforts

Meta Description has not been used for rankings by any search engine that I know of for more than a decade. That said, Google MAY use your meta description in the SERP listing. Most of the time, however, they make up their own based on other words on your page.

Yes I'm not. I'm talking about tags that you would see on forums such as in a tag cloud and part of thread like the here.

Well, the "tags" you see at the bottom of threads here on WF aren't really "tags". They are links to other pages on the site that are about the "tags" they list there.

  • Hello friends! How are you? Maaan just surfing the wave here, can someone help me with this question below?

So I just stumbled on something with a new client... I was doing some on-page analysis and when I was checking heading tags this appeared while looking for H1's:

<h2 class="h1 at---home-Celtics"> Boston Celtics gets first win in summer league </h2>

My doubt is, what does <h2 class=h1 means? My wild guess is that a h2 is copying an h1 format with bigger letters is that it? And the keyword within the tag (celtics) does it count as a ranking factor?

    Thank you all <3

The Celtics part of the heading is not doing anything for the SEO. All I can guess is that they have a different font size/color/font style for the H1 of the Celtics than they do for other teams.

Other than that, it is merely telling search engines to treat the heading as an H2 but use the same styling as the H1.

Title tags are the most critical factor in SEO on the page. It will be important till Google displays the title in the SERP.

It depends on a number of factors, including the type of content you are creating, the platform you are using, and your target audience.

    Hi!
In my opinion tags play a crucial role in SEO! They help search engines understand your content better, leading to improved rankings and visibility. Google still values relevant tags, but focus on quality over quantity. Use descriptive tags that match your content to boost organic traffic and enhance user experience.
