Should I delete (Crawled - currently not indexed) pages?

On my local service business website I have 72 pages indexed and 432 not indexed. [link removed by moderator]
The "Crawled - currently not indexed" pages keep slowly increasing when looking in my google search console.

It appears to be 90% of my blog posts, and even some of the blog URLs like (site.com/blog/page/4) is not indexed.

Over the years I hired someone to write me these blog posts (800 words) with stock images and used local keywords like (Top 5 Signs Your Miami Roof Needs Repairs) Basically every article mentions a city and is structured like roofingsite.com/city/blog-post.

What would you do in this situation?
Im thinking about just deleting all of these blog posts that are not indexed, and going in my XML sitemap and removing everything (categories, tags, etc) and just have it show posts & pages. Which is the only areas I have made content for this website.

It would only make sense to do this if you've done the following

    1) repeatedly tried to get the pages indexed by linking to them from high domain authority sites (cough, Reddit, cough)

    AND

    2) did a thorough content audit and the content you're thinking of deleting is redundant, 'thin,' or one dimensional

Don't. Monitor them for a week, then revisit, and keep on checking if spam.

I would consider using goggle search console if you are not already and there it usually gives you clear instuctions what actions or tasks you nee to take to fix the errors as these are the reasons the pages are not indexed, i noticed there were some errors i could not fix or indexed i tried and tried, you may have to cosider outsourcing the work and seo expert can fix these no problems im sure, i hope this helps.

I ran into this problem many times.
Keep an eye on your Google Search Console for any crawl errors or issues and regularly submit updated sitemaps. Patience is key in SEO, eventually your pages can get indexed later down the road.

  • Hold on to those blog posts! 432 not indexed is a pain, but before you nuke them, let's diagnose. Understand why Google isn't seeing them: low-quality content, keyword stuffing, duplicates, or technical woes? Investigate the "Crawled - not indexed" pages and fix any robot.txt blockades. Revise content, disavow duplicates, and address technical issues. Instead of deletion, prioritize indexing your best posts, create a lean sitemap, and start fresh with new, SEO-friendly content. Remember, quality and technical soundness are Google's keys to indexing and visibility. Don't hesitate to seek help from Google Search Console support or an SEO specialist to bring your website back to life!

  • Analyze your content to check if is it relevant till now. if not then update your content and request for manual indexing. I did this for my client's website and within a week all the content was indexed.

I guess I may be the only one to ask why? What do you think deleting them will accomplish? Hopefully, you don't believe that non-indexed pages affect the rankings of your indexed pages.

They're not hurting anyone (including your website). Move onto things that actually matter - creating content people want to engage with, obtaining high quality backlinks, etc.

Sounds like a really bad idea.

Figure out why they are not getting indexed instead.

    Is it bad site structure?

    Is the content garbage?

Is there some technical issue on these pages preventing indexing?
