I would like to know the best way to build an adsense based website. Would it be static such as XsitePro 2 or using Wordpress? I would like to build multiple sites utilizing adsense and want opinions on what is the best method to accomplish building a good site.

Wordpress is the best, it simple and quick and you can get loads of info on the web if you have any issues.

Yes.....Please. If Static sites, why? If Wordpress, why? Are there templates in WP just for Adsense? Will Firepow help with this, albeit a bit pricey. Anyone know of any "good" training on building a killer adsense site?

There is no such thing as the definitive best tool for building Adsense websites. You simply use what you feel is best for you.

Some recommend XSitePro, some use FrontPage, Dreamweaver, etc.. I personally (as well as many others) use WordPress.

Making your own theme is the best way to go in my opinion, then you can tailor it from the ground up.

No need for any expensive plugins, expensive theme frameworks or anything. The best adsense themes are the simple ones.

Check out XFactors astonishingly long thread for help and advice on how best to make money from Adsense, as well as information about what makes a good Adsense theme.

I started with blogspot blogs and put up a large rectangle ad at the top so that's really all you see at the top of the screen. Now I usually use wordpress. I don't build static sites simply because Wordpress works fine and for now I can't be bothered to learn how to use Dreamweaver or whatever.

Wordpress also has lots of plugins that allow you to do some interesting stuff, and can be pretty helpful. Wordpress takes some time to learn how to use, but it's very flexible and once you know how to use it you can throw up a simple site really quickly.

The only downside to wordpress is it's horrible security record. If your are going to build an empire of sites you may want to stay static so you're not having to patch all of your sites to the current WP release.

XSitepro works great and much easier for the average Joe to get the layout they want vs mucking around with php and html to tweak a wordpress theme. There are nicer looking free themes available for WP than XSP, but then again, for adsense, pretty isn't what you want.

I'd vote for wordpress but just can't because of security.

There are some wordpress hardening products out there that might be worth looking into if you decide to go that way, but then you're paying more to get around an issue you could have solved for free by just staying with static sites.

(yes, I know no site is truly secure, but a static site limits attack surfaces compared to a php cms, everyone is still vulnerable to having passwords stolen, hosting compromises etc.)

Exactly. That's why I've moved away from using WP for most of my niche sites. I simply don't have the time to update 100's of domains on a weekly basis.

Fortunately, there are things you can do to lock WP down somewhat but this isn't perfect.

I think wordpress is the best solution for adsense based sites because of huge no of plugins. we don't need to do anything but everything has been done by plugins

Build your own static sites that are simple and have the keywords in the page names.

Keep it simple - updating with software will kill you.

I just had a custom theme developed to try and optimize for adsense. I'm not an adsense expert but I think that I came up with something that will be a big improvement over my other WP layouts. First site goes up in a few hours.
