Does Youtube marketing bring customers to local service providers?

Hey guys, having spoken to many different marketers, seems a lot of people are divided on this topic but I decided to check with you guys.

One theory is that having a video for your local business on youtube will not bring you customers because no one searches youtube for a local plumber. So if that is the case then what's the point or purpose of creating any youtube videos or doing any youtube video marketing for a local service provider please?

    It's called AUTHORITY.

Local people might not search YouTube for plumbers

But you could put the videos on your WEBSITE

So that when people come to your WEBSITE and see
your informative plumbing videos on how to unclog a
drain, replace a faucet, install washing machines, and
other handy household tips, they might think:

WOW! This guy really knows what he's doing.

You can also SEO your videos so that when someone
searches for "TWIN OAKS PLUMBER" your videos
will come up in Google search results.

I suggest you read some marketing books and learn
more about the topic of MARKETING.

There are also a number of books about YouTube.

As to theories, sometimes you need to do things for
yourself and find out whether they work, instead of
    seeking other people's opinions.

Yes, as per your conversation, you think for local businesses no one searches to YouTube. You are correct but people search for how all things are done better ways by seeing these video. If a person does not know about your product or how he/she uses it. YouTube is the platform to learn how we use products and services by viewing these videos to understand better than content in images or text.

You have to think in the macro here.... its NOT about having a video on YouTube, and people searching on YouTube How this is even an argument... is short of hilarious.

So how can a YouTube video benefit a local business? Its all about Google search - NOT YouTube. Look up "Plumbers" on Google and what do you find? you will generally find 2 ads at the top, followed by the local component aka the 3 pack, and THEN there is a search results. Easy enough right?

So if your business is not hitting one of the 3 pack listings ( and if it is hitting in the 3 pack, you still want to do the same )... you want to try your best at getting in the local listing part of the SERPS.

Ok so your business has a website, and with that, the BEST you can do is have a single listing in the local section of the SERPS.... just for the point of conversation lets say you can get 1 of 10 possible listing spots. The question is then, how could you get more spots? YouTube videos ( if done correctly - local SEO on the video itself ) can indeed appear in the 10 local listing spots. I have seen 3 spots added for a total of 4 of the top 10 local SERPS. Throw in a solid Facebook profile into the mix, and I have seen 5 of the 10 spots taken by a single business.

A WF member @Claude Whitacre actually has written a book about this very topic. ( https://www.amazon.com/Local-Online-...aufs_ap_sc_dsk )

To take an excerpt from the books description:

    Discover How Just Ten Minutes A Day Will Get You The Following;
-Multiple page one Google search results for your local business.
-Online business listings that get you found On Google.
-Your website seen in multiple local Google searches.
-The best ways to get top Google Plus Local listings
-How to quickly dominate YouTube search results..Make your videos go viral!
-How to use your competitor's advertising to bring real buyers to your business.
-How to beat your competition. Get your business found first in any online search
-The best types of YouTube videos to attract customers like a magnet.

Claude didnt just write a book about this.... He ( now retired - God bless him ) he had a small mom and pop business and he is simply sharing HOW he brought his Brick and Mortar business to the internet.

If he doesnt happen to answer here, pose the same question on the offline Forum... he will for sure answer

YouTube videos and getting traffic is a tried and true method.

    Hope that Helps!

Off course. But it depends on how you are doing the video marketing. First of all if you are trying to get YouTube audience and your channel is not that popular in the location you are trying to do the business you are just wasting your time. Lets say you provide plumber service in San Angelo. Now if you post a video in your newly created YT channel what do you really expect from that video? On the other hand if you follow these strategies...

    1. Post a good video on YT. Build some backlinks to the video from some authority site. Try to rank it for Google SERP for some good local keywords.

    2. Work hard to develop a good YT channel on your location. Continuously post videos on your channel related to plumber service in your location. Also post some videos providing tips and tricks on DIY plumber works, maintaining and troubleshooting at home etc. In this way your channel will grow attracting local service searchers and by watching your lead magnet videos they will start contacting with you.

    3. You can promote some videos in YouTube for your plumber service in your location. It definitely works.

You would definitely get high quality leads.
