Where am I going wrong... or am I doing it right but im just unlucky.

Here are my steps

- Find the market I want to go in to.
- Open up market samurai and generate me a list of random keywords
- Look at the search competition for them keywords
- Look at traffic for keyword in MS and google
- Look if the keyword is in the title of competetion
- Look at the top 10 sites in google and how they are seoed
- Google Trend the keyword
- Go back to MS and look at Domains PR, BL, URL, Desc, Head and see if the keyword is in them
- Look at adwords, see if people are spending money in the niche.
- If all looks good, go for it and carry on with market research

That what I do, is this classed as proper keyword research or am I missing something vital.

  • I think that can be all
I never do so many research like you do, but i think you didn't miss anything
  • You are doing a lot more than most. It is just a matter of learning to read the data now. The best way to get a feel for this is by actually trying a site. Once you learn your limits with results you will know what is really possible. If you work hard you will be suprised that a lot of the terms you think are impossible are actually quite doable.
