PR9 backlinks

I just came across a site that sells backlinks. For a measly $69 they will sell you 9 backlinks from PR9 sites.


Google has stopped making PR available in 2013.


PR stands for Page Rank. Anyone talking about a website with a PR of anything does not know what they're talking about.


In case you were not around when Google made PR avaialbe, Bing.com, Yahoo.com, and such sites had a homepage with a PR of 9. Brand new pages always had a PR of 0. Once Google found links, it decided whether to keep them at 0 or move them higher.


It took 5 backlinks from 5 different pages with a PR of 0 to move a page from PR0 to PR1; 5 backlinks from 5 different pages with a PR of 2 to move a PR1 page to PR2 ( or 125 backlinks from pages with PR of 0. By the time you moved to PR 9, you needed hundreds of thousands of backlinks with PR of 0).


Short of it, spending $69 for 9 backlinks means these are very expensive backlinks...

    Do not waste you money you are way better off reaching out to site owners in the same niche as you and ask for a backlink inside a relevant article or do a link swap you will get way better results.

    This is complete nonsense. There was no specific number that moved a page to the next PR level.

    Without making it too complicated...

    PR was calculated on an algorithmic scale and calculated out to some number of decimal places (Google never shared how many). What they shared publicly was only whole numbers though. PR 1, PR 2, PR 3, etc...

    Because a PR 0 might actually be a PR 0.42, that would be a much more powerful page than a flat PR 0.00 page.

    A PR 1 page, might actually be a PR 1.78, which would be much stronger than just a PR 1.00 page.

    Also, there are many factors that impact how much PR is passed on through a link from a page. One of the biggest being how many links are on the page. A page with 100 outgoing links is going to pass on less PR than a page with 8 outgoing links.

    In this case it is probably true because the person selling the links is clearly a moron or a scammer, but if the links were any good, that would be a dirt cheap price. I routinely pay $500+ for a single link.

      Yes very much so, it's just that PR no longer the measurement. Getting good quality backlinks is still essential for SEO though.

    Any mention of PR these days is a red flag. If something in SEO sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Instead, spend the money on building real, quality links, I too recently ordered a couple of links from NicheRanker and NeedMyLink, both worked well for my site
