SEO for Amazon Search - breakthrough?

I've just published a book inside Amazon.com using their createspace publishing on demand program, (which was a bit fiddly, and very expensive if I wanted to see proof copies this side of 2010, but, there, it's all done and I'm up and running.)

Now the real battle begins - when I type in my main niche keyword, that is in the title of the book itself, my book isn't listed in the first god knows how many pages of results, and Amazon lists over 1000 results for that search so I have no idea whether I am actually in the search results or not.

Obviously I want to be returned at #1 for my keyword, plus a good few others - does anyone have any thoughts, pointers, advice, tricks, sneaky tricks, etc...?

What about we get a thread going here that systematises this potentially lucrative technique?

(Let alone I need a breakthrough to stop my beloved book crashing and burning!)

OK, so this is an unknown area to people on here?

Even more important that we get it going then.

I've been browsing around - looks like the number of reviews you have for your book does give it weight, so it's probably worth tackling the list of top 100 Google reviewers and seeing how many of them would be up to receive a review copy of your book - that's an expensive option though, so really SEO on the Amazon search index would be a much more appealing idea if anyone has ever managed to do it?
