If I were you, I'd focus on building onsite content.
I'll initially target longtail search terms with competitiveness that's well within my domain's punching weight (DA2, in your case).

Doesn't matter if it's AI, human, programmatic, or any calibrated combination.
I'll implement E-E-A-T and avoid thin, spammy content.
I'll try my best for my content to satisfy immediate user intent and correlated queries.

ONCE those posts begin to slowly climb Google rankings for my target geos and devices, this'll steadily build up the PA of those posts.
Which, in turn, builds up DA.

AND ONCE DA is at a different weight division, I'll target the next set of search terms, many of which are likely to have higher monthly search demand volumes from my target geos and device(s).

I'd put backlink building through guest blogging, PR submissions and other techniques as a secondary priority for the moment.
Not that I won't do anything to build backlinks. Instead, I'll do that liberally, all while focusing on onsite content building.

And once my DA hits a certain threshold (for me, it's DA 10), I'll increase backlink building prioritization a little.

And that goes on every time I hit increments of that threshold.

Growing DA from 2 to 30+ and DR to 50+ takes time, maybe a few months. AI content can rank, but it must be high quality and well-edited. Keep making good backlinks with guest posts and Web 2.0 sites. If results are slow, try writing by hand. Stay patient, and you will see progress!

Don't focus on increasing DA or DR because they are vanity metrics at best. Google does not use them to rank a website. Focus on improving the visitor experience/engagement on your website. Write great content, follow best SEO practice and get powerful authority links from relevant websites in your niche. For this, study succesful websites who are crushing on Google right now. Apart from this, have one strong social media presence on any platform of your choice. increase your network, be a valauable cointributor of your community and above all understand that organic growth is a marathon not a sprint. I think it takes time. For DA 30+, it's doable if your link-building is steady and consistent. You can achieve DR 50+ if you have a solid strategy, this will take time and effort.

Also, I would say, AI is helping me, but as a reader, it has that different feel when an article is written manually. Something like a personal touch that makes it more authentic and engaging, just my thoughts.

So, I am at the same juncture and hope to gain insights as well. I am currently testing to see if posting blog content on my website with references to the postings and conversations I have engaged in on high Domain Authority websites (anything above 50 for now, with idealistically more than 50,000 site visits, and at least 5,000 follow backlinks) will have any affect over the next 12 months. My process involves summarizing 5 posts where I have engaged on other high DA platforms and including very brief summaries of those posts, followed by all the direct URL'S pertaining to those posts pasted at the bottom of my blog content section. I then mark those summaries as H2, or H3 tags as appropriate, include a link at the very bottom of the content section just below all the referenced URL's that links internally back to other content pages in my website, if practical, shorten the URL handle for the blog, if necessary, mark the content as visible in the Shopify platform and publish. The next step is to run the blog URL handle through my Google Console Page's URL Inspection Tool (it will always come back as not in Google--and that is ok). Then I request indexing of the URL and that closes the loop on creating the backlink. It is my understanding it could take several months for Google to appropriately crawl and make the connection to get credit for the backlink. So, this is definitely a marathon and not a race. My goal is to do at least one blog post a week (with the five URL'S and summarized content--hopefully to about 100 different domains) over a year to see if my domain authority score and presence in Google searches increases.
