just wondering how hard it is to get to no. 1 spot from 130?

current top spot only has 100 bl and top 10 only have 2 sites with more than 5 back links for keyword.

I'm working hard on backlinking to drive position.

just wondering how long should i expect to take to get to no.1?

if its a week and i'm not there next week i know i need to take more action.

thanks for the advice

apologise for the semi open question

    It shouldn't be hard.

Just start building backlinks to you site, maybe around 10 per day.

Do you mean the no.1 spot in SERPS? some say building back links is the way to go, while some say content is king - just keep on adding relevant content then traffic will follow. I personally prefer using these two methods..

Unless you can have amazing content that naturally gets you links from those who find it useful, backlinks are very important. And it's always good to see the backlinks that competing sites have.

Remember, high PR and relevant links are two things to keep in mind. If the you are linking from is relevant to your site, it really helps.

This has been covered and explained in details many times. A backlink is a backlink, relevent or not.

It can be hard if there is a lot of competition with good ranking.

It depends on the competition of the keyword. Getting to number one should be easy and fast if the comp is low enough. That's what Google Sniper is all about.

      Thanks all,

Competition is low and typically none niche.

I'll work on content and backlinks. I've found related forums for the links.

      as well as submitting articles

IF i do 10 a day + how long typically should i expect to see results i.e. top 10?.

My first time doing this so need some kind of standard to work against incase what i'm doing isn't working for some reason.

I suspect you'll start seeing results around the 1 month mark, but this is just my experience. Sometimes it's a few weeks, sometimes 3-4 months to claw your way onto page 1. Just be prepared for a roller-coaster ride, but relax. Focus on more than one website or project so you don't obsess over it. Lots of peoples main worry is that they are wasting their time. Forget that. What you're doing is learning by taking action, and there is always failure in that. The trick is to get used to learning from it and moving forward.
