My Adsense earnings skyrocketed

I'm always on the hunt for a new niche to break into.

So... about a month ago, I was on the computer, more specifically Youtube. And, I started watching all of the political videos that related to the presidential race.

The light bulb stopped flickering when I realized that I had an idea.

The most talked about current affair is the presidential race.

I wrote down my ideas... called one of my web guys... 3 days later, I had a new site titled... It's in my sig below.

Anyhow, before the site went live I spent hours thinking of ways to monetize it. The only thing that I could think of was Adsense.

I have never been much of a fan of Adsense... until now. Over the past month, my Adsense earnings have gone from 2 cents to $50.00 a day. And considering that the debates are this week, I'm expecting my earnings to increase even more.

I'm sharing this post with you all for a few reasons

1. To prove that it doesn't cost much to make money online.

2. Always act on your ideas immediately. I could have very easily sat on this idea and been $50 a day poorer.

3. It doesn't take rocket science.

It took me less than 30 minutes to put this idea in motion and a month later I've been absolutely amazed at the progress its made.

    Just to let you know, the timestamp display for the comments is wrong. It's showing "At Sep:50 AM on". (Or depending on the time, Aug, Oct, etc. It's displaying the hour as a month.) That should be a very quick fix for your web guy.

    I'd be interested in knowing some of your traffic strategies as well... just because there aren't many pages to the site, yet you seem to have taken off right away

      To be making that sort of Adsense income after such a short space of time must mean you've managed to get a hefty chunk of traffic.

      I wrote 1 press release and heavy Youtube Marketing. I did hundreds of video responses on Youtube with 1 video.

      I literally wrote 1 press release and made 1 Youtube video. I did hundreds of video responses to every relevant political video. Luckily, I was also able to post video responses to non political videos as well considering that everyone is paying attention to presidential race.

      But that's all of the marketing that I've done.

      Thank you... I have to admit that I got lucky on this one. The most exciting thing about it for me was being able to lock down the perfect web address.

      A friend of mine built the site. He created, owns and runs BLNK a very popular and up and coming social site.

      He didn't charge me anything, he owed me a favor.

      The main source of traffic has been Youtube.

      I made a promise to myself earlier this year to never over-think my ideas ever again. I have learned that being too analytical can be very counter-productive.

      I have also really embraced the fact that life is too damn short.

      I choose to go all out!

    Anything political, technological or simply off the wall news gets dugg very well.

    • What I really like about your site is that it's not JUST about the elections...the concept of "What Would You Say to the President?" is timely whether it's an election year or not, and no matter who's in office.

    And I'm looking at adsense in a whole new light now. I have an adsense site which is on more of an evergreen topic which makes anywhere up to $23 in a day, but what the heck, it couldn't hurt to test out a more timely topic.

      Thank you... I really wanted to make sure that this wasn't something that completely disappeared after the election.

      When it comes to Adsense, I know very little. To be honest with you, I couldn't tell you what good Adsense earnings are.

      All I know is how to drive traffic to websites using video, PPC, Press Releases, and a little SEO.

      My favorite is PPC...

      But, its like I said, in this case my main source of traffic has been video.
  • Knowing how to drive traffic is incredibly valuable. You can have the most perfect website in the world but if no-one sees it, it doesn't do you much good. I'm impressed by your use of video response; I haven't tried that yet.

    You gotta buy your web guy a beer for this site...an uglier site might not have attracted so much traffic.

  • This is what I love about internet marketing - you can test out a new site for almost nothing, get up some content and see what happens. Even if it doesn't really work you can easily pay for your domain over a year. If it does work, then the long tail will be paying off for years to come. I need to think volume, volume, volume!

      That's it.

      To be honest with you all, this particular niche doesn't require much marketing at all.

      This works great for me because I don't have the time to monitor the site anyway. I go two and three days at a time without out even looking at it.

      The success of the site thus far can only be attributed to a good idea(humbly stated), timing, and luck.

    • Thank you for an awesome post. You are very right that Adsense can be very profitable. Another Internet marketer e-mailed recently and told me he was doing about $20 to $30 per day on Adsense. My earnings with a little extra effort on Adsense are improving. Adsense is not dead by any means. If you don't spam you will be fine. I wouldn't rely soley on Adsense for income, but it is a great way to add more income to your bottom line. I also have made some good money with the presidential race. It is great to tap into these buzz topics. Great post, thanks!
