Ezine Articles For Same Keyword As Micro Niche, counterproductive?

I want to write a Ezine article for backlink juice to a micro site i recently created. However the system im following, doesn't recommend this, because the Ezine article might outrank the actual micro website.

But i don't really see the problem with this. If its ranked below its helping you to gain traffic, if its ranked above, it could get in your way to higher rankings in the search engine. But for example if its just one position above your site, the visitor reads the article, and if he doesn't he can either exit, and go back to google search and look at the next site, or he would click on your url via the resource box, being that the article and the site is highly relevant to what he his looking for.

So in conclusion i reckon that ranking for Ezine article in the same micro niche, is not counterproductive, but totally the opposite. The positives simply outweigh the negatives in my book.

Postives
- more increase traffic, if ranked below
- great, because you will get traffic when your site is sandboxed (early stages)
- highly relevant back links, better in the long term for your site, then a article about something unrelated.

Negatives
- Might outrank your site and gain more traffic. Solution: you can delete the article if its really having a negative impact, or simply build more backlinks to beat it. How hard is it to beat your own Ezine article...

What do you guys think?

I always make sure that the content on my micro niche sites are better (that's subjective, I know) and more voluminous (that should be a given since my ezine articles are always 400 words or fewer) than that on my ezine articles. I have never had a problem with ezine outranking my site. My suggestion is to go for it! And if you have to, it wouldn't be too hard to beat your own ezine article!

If the article on ezine ranks higher than your micro niche site, ezinearticles will be converting some of the traffic you should be getting into adsense clicks. Another point is that you will just add to the competing sites requiring you to get more backlinks to rank higher (because of ezinearticles internal linking structure). I would advise you look for a long tail keyword within your micro niche and go for that. That way you get traffic and your not fighting with yourself for a top spot in google.
