Hi guys,

Can anybody offer any more advice on how i can target my ads better its starting to seem pointless when i`m creating a page on a certain brand product and on the ads i`m getting a different brand than the page is created for, ie on a hair products site i have i`ve created a page for `hai flat irons` but the ads are showing for `ghd flat irons` which is pointless isn`t it ??

i was wondering if the more i backlink the page using the keyword as anchor text the more relevent the ads get or not ??? because this page is only sitting on page three of google, but when i do type the keyword into the broswer i do see ads for `hai flat irons` on the right so i know their there.

I have found this problem afew times trying to build niche adsense sites, is there a easy solution AND yes i have optimised the page alright and even wrapped some text around important information like a fellow WF member told me its something like <google ads start/> something like that i cannot remember.

But this is really getting me down it just seem like a lot of hard work to put in when i dont get the right ads !

Anybody have the same problem and is there a way around it ??

Cheers Jim

You can go into your Adsense account and block the unwanted ads. Or you can add more targeted content to your page to see if that targets it better. Add more instances of the specific product you want to show ads for, and less general keywords such as "flat iron". Always say "hai flat iron" and rarely just "flat iron".

But why not allow ads for the competition? If that's what a few visitors want to check out, then more clicks for you. Win/Win, right? Make it a comparison page, and both will get clicks.
