Some Tips for the XFactor Adsense Method

I've been playing with the Xfactor method (which is incredible, by the way) for adsense sites the past few weeks and have made some really nice cash for very little work. That said -- here a few tips from what I've experienced (if you have more, please add them!):

1. Ensure Relevant Ads Are Showing
Check out the other sites ranking for your terms and take a look at their ads. Make sure they're on-topic and are what you think will do well on your site.

2. Buy .com and .net Only
I bought a bunch of hyphenated domains and .info, .org and while they do rank fine now (after 3-4 weeks) they don't get rank as high immediately (right upon indexing) as .com or .net (non hyphenated). If you're looking for quick cash and fast rankings the .com and .net are essential. I'm not saying you can't rank as high with secondary tlds, just saying that my experience is that they don't rank as high from the start.

3. Do More than Article Marketing for SEO
With the sheer amount of sites I see going for keywords I'm researching (with the same Xfactor template) it makes sense that if everyone is following this step by step for the same niches -- you're not going to outrank anyone. The old adage: "When running from a bear, you don't have to be faster than the bear - just faster than the other humans" applies here. If you want to beat these guys out you'll have to do more than article marketing.

4. Don't Believe Adwords Traffic Numbers
I've got a site ranking number 1 for a term that reportedly gets 21,100 searches per month (exact match). I get 7 visits per day in the number 1 spot. I don't really have much of a suggestion here, but it does seem to be more accurate to take into consideration Google Trends data. Take the new keywords you're looking at and put it up against a keyword you already rank number 1 for. Also, if you're feeling particularly froggy you can run a test adwords campaign to view impressions too. That should give you a better idea of the traffic you can expect.

5. Fill the Sites With As Much Content As Possible
I've been seeing a substantial curve relating to pages indexed. Once I hit the 20 page mark with my sites (all with 500 words of content or more per page) I see a big increase in serp traffic (from longtail and from other, better terms I was ranked lower for).

All in all though, the XFactor program is incredible - highly recommended - and these are just a few things I've been doing to increase results.

Did you try to check the numbers with running an ad on adwords for that keyword?

After I ranked it, yes. The searches are a bit higher (20-30 per day), but if you factor in the AOL data that was released it's pretty close.

Just letting you know that I have many .orgs that have hit top listings right off the hop, so (IMHO) they are just fine.

But, that's my own experience. And I'd hit the .com first if it was there too.

Same here. Most of my sites are .org and a few are #1 in Google (broad and exact), so org should not be a problem. Info on the other hand...

I agree about staying away from hyphenated domains. I bought a few of them, and while one has been quite profitable, it is not from the Exact match keyword, but rather long tail keywords. The rest have struggled to rank high.

I've had great luck so far with .com and .net as well.

How are you using Google Trends? I tried messing with that, but didn't have much luck. I haven't tried Insight.

Here's an interesting tidbit... my highest earning sites have NOTHING reported on google adwords tool. I've seen some very good money in less than 2 months of doing the XFactor plan, though I will say that I use my own template.

Not using XFactor but I have a hyphenated dot com that has been number one on Bing for probably a year now. Haven't really done anything with it for that long.

It was front page Google while I was using it. I guess because I was changing the content frequently.

          Google still has it indexed.

    1. The biggest reason (I think) that my CTR sucks.
    2. No problem here.. I've got a .org last week that ranked in the top ten in a couple of days.
    3. Starting to think this is more true than it is not.
    4. Don't have enough traffic data to ascertain the validity of this.
    5. I do agree that more content is better --> more long tails = more $.

That's crazy. I'd be pretty pi**ed with that! The guys below you must be getting a fair amount of that traffic. Have you tried playing around with your meta desciption tags to attract more visits? Surely the tool can't be that much out!

Yeah, it's pretty crazy. I've also got sites ranking #1 for keywords that it says "not enough data" on that get 100-120 visits per day. Some really wide variations with that data.

Thanks for the share. It's weird that google supply crappy stats like that - i think they do it on purpose. xfactors method does use a bit of a scatter gun approach though and this is why i think. You can never tell what is going to happen so just throw the mud at the wall and see what sticks. Then build on the successes and leave the failures behind.

Yea I use that same method I build them really fast and throw them up and see what sticks. I have tried to get the best traffic stats by running it via MNF,Spyfu, and if not happy try wordtracker. It seems the ones that's doing very well for me is the ones sypfu said only 30 searches a day. Now I have about 70 sites with about 15 failures which is cool since I making back fast.

      Just my 2 cents

Can you elaborate. When who publishes your biobox along with your site? Ezine? If so just use different authors/ bios

          Great post Terry.

But what would you say about adding stop words to a domain?
Like mydomain.com, are those harder to rank?

And do the hyphenated domains need backlinks to rank or does it just take longer for them to do so?

This only matters if your a lazy ass punter who won't do any seo work. Like most methods in IM only a small percentage of people are serious and do the work it takes.

By the way, if you have been writing for the directories for awhile you probably have old articles that the sites int he bio box have long since died. Why not go back and change those and point them at your new sites. I'm throwing this out there for two reasons. 1. It's probably true. 2. Presumably the people finding your niches aren't looking at old articles.

Long terms, I'd say don't worry so much about your domain extension. Use something that is relevant and makes sense. Be creative. Using keyword rich text and hypens is not creative.

i agree the google keyword tool is not accurate.

I am not sure how you could interpret what the op said as something that ridiculous, but hey; to each his own.

Appreciate the info, Terry. Always nice to see people who take different approaches on popular methods and share the aspects of their successes.

I have seen a number of sources saying the GAKT can be pretty misleading in revealing true search volume. I rely on good ole' MS and so far have seen consistency with the 11 sites I have up at the moment. Hopefully I am not just lucky.

2 of my highest ranking domains are dot org, and they only have one page of content.

IMO, while content is important (for LTKW, like you said), backlinks is how you're going to get the most traffic.

Yes you are absolutely right. Having good content is not good enough. In fact Matt Cutt in a recent interview says even if you create tons of content they won't help unless you have a good number of backlinks to your website...

Listen archkre (donkey avatar). What is your problem? First you run a thread bashing the X-factor method. No you're in here too. John (X-factor) is one of the most respected and honest guys in IM. His stuff works - period.

If you don't like his program get something else but stop attacking his program and put up total crap about it.

    Hi,

Im considering getting John xfactor's guide and knocking up enough adsense sites to get to around $50 - $100 a day with adsense, but first I'd like a reasonable idea of cost can anybody give me some ideas on essential tools needed to make things easier purely for this method alone. At the top of my head Im thinking MNF UAW etc.

Also I would be outsourcing the Articles so roughly how many articles does John recommend per site.

    Dave d

Ps sorry if it seems I'm hijacking this thread but I did not want to start another Xfactor thread.

Thanks Rob what about articles roughly how many per site, Ive heard 1 a day mentioned so if Im working on a minimum 10 sites a month thats 300 articles, can you shed any light on this ?
I never had much luck with the articles route that Xfactor lays out. Honestly you're better off getting high PR backlinks. It will take less time than writing articles, and they'll give you 3x as much link juice. You're article might get picked up by a couple people, but from my own experience they are usually low PR, and pretty spammy blogs just wanting some content.

Thanks for the tips I have 4 sites up so far and its been exactly 1 month..

1 is on 4th position making me about $2 per day, one is one 1st position but is making me peanuts.. And im waiting on the other two to arrive on First page. In 1 month from 1 site i have made R350 ($30) So its just a matter of rince and repeat.. if i keep all my ducks in a row, i should be making good money in a year or 2.

For me this is LONG TERM cash.. i dont care if i dont make money in 3 months time.. But i know, after a year of hard work, i will be making a residual income. Thats they beauty of this rather than promoting products.. you get paid for your efforts everyday potentially forever :p
