Hi guys,

Starting out with adsense. Don't want too many ads on the site.

Where would you place adsense on my blog?

The Eco Bloke

Thanks for your help.

Without looking at your blog the best place to put adsense is below the title and above the content.

    Use a 336 adsense block.

People recommend placing your ads above the fold. I do this for all my blogs and definitely get more clicks compared to other positions. Still, it's always good to experiment -- test one location for about a week or two, then move it to another position. And for me personally, text ads convert much higher than images.

Your 'green' site isn't a good fit for Adsense. You should consider a different monetization method for that blog, if you use one at all. Political and religious blogs, which is what yours is, encourage debate, not buying.

Of course, you could try this affiliate program if you get more people like me commenting there: JohnGaltGifts.com | Gifts for Proud Producers Everywhere!

I would push the "recent posts" a little lower and place an adsense block in the place of that.

IMO, there is way too much going on on the pages to put adsense on there. Your CTR will prolly be very poor.

Your eyes go in a hundred directions on your blog. If adsense is the main reason for the blog, then there should be nothing to distract the eyes from zooming in to the ads. Nothing else to click on besides ads... Infact your eyes should be drawn to the adsense ads FIRST...

Besides the fact that your topics may not be the best for adsense, your layout isn't helping either.

Part of this business is a lot of trial and error... just keep it up and test, test, and test until you get it the way you want it.

Maybe using affiliate links in your post instead would be more effective... Also I think you should look into building a list , this is great way to monetise the blog in the long run!

Hi guys, thats for all your comments.

Having a think about it I figure that adsense is not the way to go.

I will use affiliate links now and again in posts and try to get some more professionally branded banner ads on the site over time. Mt only objective at the moment is to get a blog with value - I can figure out the monetization a good few months down the line.
