Backlinks Not Showing

I created a blog a while ago and have been building backlinks but they dont seem to be showing. I paid someone for 1300 manual directory submissions, he gave me the report. I have created a twitter account and started tweeting, facebook, squidoo....etc... but it still shows I only have 2 backlinks. Does it take some time for them to show?

sometimes it can take 3-4 months for links to show up. also just because they submitted to 1300 directories does not mean that you where accepted.

Maybe Google and other search engines now consider these 'directory spam' - they have been going for years!

Good quality backlinks are what you need - try article marketing and syndication through Ezinearticles and others.

What are you using to check your backlinks? Hopefully not Google as they only show a snippet of what they are acutally aware of. Try Yahoo.

Alot of those directory links won't show anyway due to poor internal linking structure of the directory sites. Your best bet for some good and fast backlinks is article marketing.

Google takes at least a month before they check and update the backlinks. When did you receive the seo report? Maybe you need to wait until the backlinks shows up. Till then, keep on building more backlinks

Where did you check the backlinks? In Google with link command OR Yahoo Exploer OR Backlinkwatch.

From my experience, Google link command does not show all the backlinks for a website. It shows very few. But, Google will have all those in their database. So, I don't think that will be a good way to check your backlinks.

Other than that, Backlinkwatch.com as well as Yahoo exploer will show most of the backlinks for a site.

It can take some time for Google to pick up on incoming links. As one of the posters suggested above, if they're nofollow, they probably won't pass on any link juice.

Have you tried using Yahoo! Site Explorer?

This is the tool that often picks up my newly generated backlinks first.

      Hope this helps.
