Hi guys,

I was optimising my website for 2 keywords, doing backlinking to my brand new wesite. From last 2 weeks it was on first page of google. I didn't do any article marketing, rss feeds, bookmarking etc. It was just because of backlinks that it was on first page of google for 2 of kewords.

But when I checked today, it has been slipped to 600 and 700 position in one day. What would you say this? Is it a google dance or sandbox or its been punished by google and will never recover. It would be worth it to mention here that I have backlinked all the pages of the website equally, almost 250 backlinks indexed by google.

I am a bit "more than newbie". Don't know what to do.

Please guide me.

An early reply would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,.

That would depend on the backlinks that you've acquired. What sort of backlinks did you get to point to your new website?

Usually for new websites, there is such a thing as a "honeymoon" period where you might rank on top for the keyword you're trying to optimize but that position may only last a few weeks. This is to give new websites a fighting chance against your competitors in Google.

Also look for instances of page hacking. I experienced the same situation with one of my clients' sites only to find out my homepage was hacked. The I cleaned the page and after 2 weeks it went back to #5 of my rankings.

Just continue to build backlinks to your homepage and internal pages. But be sure don't link to bad neighborhoods. Come up with fresh content as always. You should be fine. Most of the times SEO would require patience that no other profession would require.

It is very normal with newer sites as initially they ranks well just after indexing and then soon their ranking drops a lot. So no need to wory just focus on white hat SEO and build more and more quality links to regain your position.

      Hey Bolengas, Sarah_May,

Thanks very much for your time. I think I have to be bit patient for couple of days, may be weeks to see the results.

      Anyways thanks very much.
