Effectiveness of Angelas Backlinks

Hi guys, and gals.

So I have been toying around with Angelas Backlinks for a few months, on multiple sites I run. I have noticed that only a partial amount of the backlinks actually get indexed when checking my backlinks, and also just using google to check my backlinks on newer sites. I am not saying angelas backlinks are bad in anyway, as I think they are really great and it is a great product, but I do think there is more to it than just creating these profile pages.

So here is what I am asking
1. I heard page rank falls on the individual page. Why would a profile page have a high PR? Would it? Or just the main page?

2. Does making these backlinks even work by themselves? SE's may not even find these unless you submit all of your links to an RSS feed or something similar? This may explain why I used about 50-75 of her backlinks back in october and I can find the page linking to it from the profile I made, however, it is not being counted as a backlink, for the past few months (Most of the links do not count as a backlink).

Overall, I am satisified with her links and product, it really is great, however, are they pointless in many markets unless you RSS to those pages that were created?

  • My reply may or maynot help you but here is my observation:

If you have got link from forum profile then i suggest you to spend some time on that high PR forum and put signature link. So that your signature link gets distributed and regularly crawled by google. For social media profiles, i'm not sure how effective they are. But for forum profiles, more activity helps get your page ranked better. RSS for forum signatures are not necessary. But profile pages needs to be pinged IMO. (Someone please correct me if i'm wrong).

    • I am in no way a whiz on this one...

However, search for high PR sites. There are a few posts on here that list them by PR ratings. I am sure somebody else will have the link handy. A lot of Angelas backlinks are not all that great.

Plus, I concur with mahesh2k that you should take time for each profile. They spot spamming a mile away, especially those on Angelas list because everybody is using them. If you post to completely unrelated forums they will just disable your profile. If they keep it, it likely wasn't worth it in the first place unless your profile looks legit.

  • Ive had quite a few of these angela backlinks etc done for my sites and noticed hardly any get cached at all or show up as backlinks.

    • My expericence with Angela's links is that initially they do help especially if you ping each one of the profiles. Also it helps to collect the URLs and create an RSS feed from them at html2rss.com.

However it seems to be short lived as most all of the profiles get deleted or links disabled because the links she sends get so abused.

So its a never ending game of each month creating more links that will also eventually be deleted or disabled.

All in all forum posting and blog commenting are still more longevity links, even though the forums or blogs may not always be high PR.

And JiminyCricket the PR is on the main website not the profile pages. Think about it the profiles are brand new how could they have ANY PR? Now some say that the site's main page PR transfers down to these profile pages, but I'm not totally convinced on that.

      Hope this helps

  • Don't forget - all the time spent creating these profiles could be spent harvesting very high quality real PR links (ie not links on brand new pages of high PR/authority sites).

I would take one ultra high quality PR6 link (ON the PR6 page) over 400 new profile links anyday. It might take me 2 months or more to find that PR6 link, but the end result will be substantially better.
  • Are you feeding the feeders?

you need to give those pages some link love or they will not go far (or if they do, they will not last).

But this is not Angela's problem. it will work the same way with any web 2.0

I have her service (well, The Lady does) and it is ok. I stay away from forums if I'm not going to post and personal pages for long term projects.

Just a business decision... everything that exploits systems too much have short life, so they are a waste of time for long term projects. You can use them for seasonal campaigns effectively, but i stay out of it altogether, makes my life easier.

  • Just curious...I'm not a huge fan of SEO driven stuff b/c as you all have pointed out...they get disabled due to over use or Google changes stuff then things change.

Instead of trying to game google and rank high that way (Google's mathematicians LAUGH at all this stuff b/c they can tweak a few things and all your work disappears b/c they know their system...not trying to be a dick but this is true) why not build true human driven traffic (high PR blogs where you provide great content, buying stumble ads, using viral tweets, and placing small ads over the net).

I wonder sometimes what would happen if people spent all the time building links or worrying about how many links get cached and all that stuff actually building stuff that adds value in their marketplace (anyone interview an expert and get them to share the interview with their audience for traffic???)

    Just saying...

I hope everyone had an excellent Xmas today! I'm not trying to be an ass...I'm just really skeptical of anythin that relies on things like a search engine or something else that doesn't necessarily have people Raving about content...who cares if it ranks high if no one likes what you're doing...

LOL...sorry...just never got why people spend so much time on this stuff.

    Cheers,

    Brad

  • Angela's links were very good, but I don't think any result can be achieved by adding links just in the profile pages. And there's a fear of banning if you'll not use your signature links properly.
  • No one can tell you how many links you have, as none of the search engines publishes that data for public consumption. At a rough guess, if a link search is done on Google and comes back with 100 results, I would guess that you probably have around 1,000 links really.

Another thing I would tell you is that if you concentrate all of your links to one type, then that would be very unnatural. And again, if it looks staged, then the search engines will not give it the weight they would have normally. Better to mix up the types of back links a bit to include articles, forums, blogs and anything else you can find. And include some nofollow attribute in that mix.

    • My problem with the whole Angela's backlinks thing is I can't get a registered profile on any of the high page rank forums. For example, I am on the 5th forum listed in her Dec. packet and the first 4 either have the registration disabled, the registration went through but didn't work after that, or the forum required me to post 10 times before the Moderator could make a judgment call and allowing me to change my profile. "They had a rash of spamming" and put in that control to hopefully stop it.
So far, I have had 0 luck with Angela's backlinks. It might work when she tests it but once her customers start creating profiles, it is quite obvious the forums catch on quick and shut the registration down or put controls in place to make it hard.
To me, this is a bunch of crap. Thank God this is the free month, but I'm fixing to opt out if it keeps up. What a waste of time!

  • Before, Angela and Paul backlinks are one of the powerful tool to drive traffic to your website, but now, many of the profiles you created on the sites gets deleted because many backlinker abuse the free use of it. Many of that site now were also need to be approved by administrator. If I were you, don't just depend on the angela packets. Try to do Forum posting and blog commenting even in a much lower PR sites.

    • I recently put Angela's packets to the test for an inner page that had zero links prior to using the packets.

I created 90 links and after 1 month 30 were indexed. I did the rss/pingging thing etc.

My inner page is currently ranked 600 in google for a long tail keyword. Mind you my homepage is ranked 8 in google and 1 in yahoo for my main keyword.

I dont think I will waste anymore time with these packets.
  • There are two points to this:

    1. Dont take "angleas links" as the literal, ie the only way to get profile links. Her links are a strategy, that you can invest in through other providers, or by learning how to find the sites yourself.

    2. Profile links are NOT a linkbuilding strategy. They are a small part of what should be a fully-rounded strategy, and you can only do that if you have the knowledge to create one.

Anyone expecting to fill in 30 profiles a month and see their ranks shoot up based on that alone is not looking at the bigger picture. To dismiss the value of her packs, or anyone else's, or profile links as a general strategy, based on the "evidence" that you did a few of her packs and not much happened is naive.
  • I use lots of angela and paul backlinks myself,,,,

    Do they work? YES

The problem is people focus on only having 50-100 built in an entire month.
What I do is have over 100 built daily by a team of staff members
  • Hi

I have used these links for a site of mine and it has resulted in a first page ranking on google... Great stuff
  • Be consistant, thats my only advice and add other links (i.e. Articles)
  • Angela/Paul provide a good service which many Warriors have seen results from. If you take their packets as part of a general link building approach I think you'll enjoy the results-but like everything in SEO there is no magic bullet.
  • PR is assigned to pages, index or otherwise. Given time, provided the page can be reached from the index page via links, PR will pass around the site, diminishing as it does. In time, it is reasonable to expect a profile to gain some of that PR.

However, a PR 9 homepage does not mean you'll get anywhere near that on your profile.

My personal Facebook page has a PR 5, for example. This has been on FB since 2006 and I have a good number of friends and generated a lot of internal linking through comments etc.

I disagree with Angela's insistence that you don't need to become active in those online communities. The more you are active, the more links generated to your profile, the more chance you have of gaining some of the PR moving around the site.

I think quite a few of the sites in the packets will have profiles on there that NEVER get found. You could try and go to the homepage of that community and try and reach your profile through clicking links alone, see if you can reach it. If you can't, Google probably can't either.

Google have stated that they don't crawl everything on the web. They really just want stuff that's relevant, and some inactive profile on a community somewhere would count as irrelevant. That doesn't mean ALL the links won't get found, but I've noticed that by actually getting a little involved in the communities (trying to explain my activity on britney.com to my GF was a real challenge tho...) the links will get indexed for sure.

I recommend Angela's system as a great way to start learning about linkbuilding and promotion, but it really is just a starting block.
