How to make ads relevant

Hi all,

I have added google adsense to my blg (see below), but was wondering how I could make the adds relevant to my websites content?

I am new to adsense so will probably just need pointing in the right direction.

  • You should have plenty of related keywords in the page where your adsense code is, in the title, page url, body of content etc.

    If that doesn't work, you can try adsense section targeting. You can read more about it in this post:

    Also, keep in mind that adsense takes some time to start showing relevant ads.
  • Write more articles on the keyword, you want to see the ads for.
  • There's code on the adsense site that allows you to tell the bots what to target. The problem is it tells you it needs a good chunk of content in order to target, and it doesn't guarantee it will work. So I end up not using it because of those reasons.

    • As said above, the ads adjust themselves according to the most used keyword on your page and of course what ads are available. When we added adsense to our forum it took a while to get relevant ads to show but as we started getting more and more posts, the adds become more and more relevant to the content on the particular page.
  • There may not be enough advertisers in your niche. Hence, google is showing whatever ads it can on your site.
