Hi warriors,
I was wondering what is the fastest and best way to build good backlinks to my webpages. I'm sure A lot of people would be interested in knowing this.

By good I mean high ranking backlinks that don't contain the nofollow script.

    Submit your articles at article directory sites like Ezinearticles.com etc. with a link to your website in author resource box. This is the fastest way of getting backlinks

    You can do as buddy200 said submit your articles to the directory's or you could use one of the backlinking services such as Angela's or Paul's.

    Hey friend there are many things you can do. I have found that searching for things has helped me to find the answers to questions I have that other people have asked. Whatever you do be prepared to stick at it and keep going. Your best bet really is to find some lists and work your way through them. Roll up your sleeves and be prepared to sit at your PC for hours while you go through them.

    Submit a bunch of articles to as many article sites as you can.
    Submit your site to RSS Feed and blog directories if it has/is one.
    Sumit to Link Directories all the time.
    Submit to Social Bookmarking sites and utilise web2.0 sites.

    Keep working at it because as any serious marketer will know it's a life long thing you have to keep doing to stay on top as much as possible.

      This is exactly what I do, costs me less than 2 bucks ($1.875) an hour to outsource this!

      Seriously, if your building links yourself (excluding web 2.0 sites) you're not making the best use of your time!!

    Submit to social bookmarking and rss sites. I tend to not pay attention to do follow or no follow. The debate is still up on that. Also submit to article directories.

    All the important backlink building tips has been mentioned by others, you can also use blog commenting to build backlinks as well. Specially high pr blogs. Just make sure you do leave a relevant comment so your link will not get deleted as spam.

    In order to achieve a good link profile (meaning a balance of all different types of links), you'll want to submit to article directories, do blog comments and profiles. This should be sufficient to give you a kickstart in achieving your rankings.

    Dofollow is important, but realize that in order for your link profile to look as natural as possible, you don't want to get only dofollow links. If you get only dofollow links, you'll trigger Google's algorithm to flag you as spam.

    Hope this helps.

    It really comes down to creating a variety of links. Write articles, spin those articles, create podcasts, RSS feeds, video, forum signatures, forum profiles(Angela and Paul's links).

    There are so many choices you really just need to focus on the content creation methods that are easiest for you.

  • Forget about SEO. Put your links where people that are investigating your niche actually go.

    That's it. That works.

    If a real person can not find and click on your link then it's wasted effort.

      InternetMarketingIQ,

      That's somewhat true, but you can't say it's ineffective if somebody doesn't follow your link through. Getting traffic through the links you place is great, but the main focus of link building is to rank so you don't have to depend on other sites to send you traffic.

      Ranking is the number 1 goal. Getting traffic through the links you place is just a bonus. However, I do agree with you. In order to be most efficient, get links placed on popular websites and make them relevant so they'll actually click through. Then you get:

      1) Ranking
      2) Traffic through links.

    Try all the SEO services in a wise way. If you use Angela's & Paul's backlinking list, create profile such that it will not get deleted considered as spam. Do forum posting, article writing, video marketing. Youtube, Twitter, Facebook are other powerful tools for pushing up your website in Search Engines.

    I agree article marketing is the fastest most targeted way to build quality backlinks. It is time consuming but it is well worth it articles have sticking power, they can be shared on other websites. If your article is good people will publish it on there websites giving you tons of extra backlinks in the process. Plus they do not expire they can be floating out in cyberspace for years giving you free targeted traffic for a long time. And the best part is it is free!

    Some of these responses are just plain bad advice and some are seriously funny.. Please do not try to give out advice unless you have done your testing and know what you are talking about...

    The only 2 decent responses I have seen in this thread is from - Liam Hamer and Chris Busa

    First of all .. Do Follow and No Follow mean nothing, you should be posting anyplace you can. 2ndly PR means nothing at all and certainly Alexa ranking means nothing.. 3rd duplicate content is a freaking myth.. Please do not fall for these myths, as each one has been proven to be a myth...

    There are many ways to build backlinks but many forget about the smaller places. So below I will create a list of places and ways you can build backlinks to your websites.

    * Rss Submission To Rss Directories
    * Register Similar Domain (or use your .net) and install a blog and load it with quality content to build links to your main site
    * Use Sub-Domain Names
    * Upload to Document Sharing Sites
    * Create Groups on Yahoo, Video Sharing Sites, Web 2.0 Properties
    * Comments on Bookmarks
    * Creating Profiles at Web 2.0 Sites
    * Posting Comments on freinds profiles
    * Posting Articles on Article Directories
    * Doing Social Bookmarking
    * Press Releases
    * News Posting
    * Squidoo Pages
    * HubPages
    * Social Network Profiles
    * Paid To Post Sites (such as myLot)
    * Forums

    Honestly you should be putting yourself out there everyplace you can ... Yes SEO matters and Yes SEO does not matter.. There is no correct answer here due to the fact some sites will require SEO while others will not.. So your best bet is to always shoot for using SEO..

      You won't get as detailed as you want on a public forum especially when it is related to SEO and back links. SEO/Back link expertise is one of the most sought skill online so getting detailed information for free is very very unlikely. What you will always get is just the general information and you can gather this information on most SEO websites.

    If you have your own product, one great way to build links (as well as increase sales) is by starting an affiliate program and ensuring that affiliate links contain your domain name within them.

    Then every time your affiliates promote your product you are getting a backlink.

    Cheers,

    James (RichJerksNet) said that NoFollows mean nothing. Is this true? I posted a video last night on YouTube and put a link in the beginning of the description. It shows as a link, but it is NoFollow. The link was to a brand new website.

    I then used a ping service to bookmark the video page.

    I just checked with site:mydomainname.com and no documents were found. So, that means Google hasn't found it, yet, right?

    My Video page DID get indexed because it shows in Google Video search (at the top).

    So, doesn't that tell me that if my link had been a DoFollow that Google would have indexed my site, by now?

    The best way is to properly promote your blogs in different ways by writing unique content and updating your blogs often , then try pinging, submitting your blogs to other social networking site, forum posting, directory submission, provide commenting and trackback to your site, make a sitemap for your site as well

    From my point of view, all are the best way (Such as blog commenting, blog content posting, article submissions, directory submissions, social bookmarks submissions, forums postings, profile backlinks and etc).

    Out of all these, social bookmarking is the easiest one and there are posssibilities to get more backlinks via tags at the same time. For other methods, there are little more work required.

      The best way to build backlinks is by taking the time to make them yourself.

      I've heard success from people buying backlinks, but I personally have not had any success with it.

      Article Directories(My favorite), All web 2.0, forums, blogs, etc that everyone has already stated.

      I think social bookmarking sites are abused like no tomorrow by SEO, but can still be helpful in getting backlinks.

      I heard Ed Dale said that do follow and no follow don't really matter at all, but I'm not sure if that's true or not.

(links from Mixx, Jumptags and Digg, seems to stick best..at least for me) I always use two different site titles and descriptions to mix it up a little. After that, I do RSS submission with RSS Submit. I will soon try out FreeTrafficSystem to do some quick blog posting.
