Can i go crazy with linkbuilding for a 3 year old domain?

I discovered some older site of mine which is already 3 years old, it was badly maintained. It already has 100+ pages indexed in Google.

Now, i redesigned the site (put a WP blog on it) but kept the original structure intact.

I didn't have any backlinks or anything on that domain.

Since the site is older...can i go crazy linkbuilding? What happens if i were to Xrumer blast it? I would never do it to a new site...but what about older sites which are already indexed?

    I have no idea what xrumer blast is, but you shouldn't have a problem building links on any domain.
    I've built 500-1000 new links a day on brand new domains before (less then 3 months old) and never had a problem.
    I built the large amount of backlinks by sponsoring styles and templates, and than giving those out for free. Never had a problem.

        its possible with certain software

        Eg. i just got "scrapebox"..which is fantastic....you can eg. referrer/trackback-spam to thousands of blogs..ONE way to get links...

        And Xrumer would just spa...uhm blast thousands of links on various forums. I am still more tending towards quality links.... BUT i have seen some sites eg. which got #1 position in Google with 40.000 backlinks...and there is NO way to get 40.000 "quality" backlinks...and he STILL got #1 google for a really good KW.

    wow...i *just* thought about this, i have many templates which i custom made. Where would you give them away to reach such high numbers?

    I know everyone won't agree on this one but I think with a 3 year old domain you can go nuts with building links. I would throw caution to the wind unlike on a new domain.

    I personally, from experience, think you can build as many backlinks as you can or want, on an old or new domain, doesnt matter. I think the rumor about backlink building too fast & getting deindexed is a myth... Since if it were true, people would do this to their competitors sites to get them indexed, and it doesn't happen.

    My thoughts, but I can't guarantee anything, so be cautious I suppose..

    Just maintain quality link building If you got 2 link each day which is relevant to your site is enough for your site.

    I don think the domain age matters so much in link building. Just do what you have to do.
