Adsense seems senseless...Was making $3/day..Last 2 days - 0.00

I am not really crying

Just 2 days ago I made my first $3 per day with adsense. And now, in last 2 days, I have got over 600 page views, and no click and no $0.00....

How can this be possible. Is this because of this message that I am receiving?:

I have submitted the information, though!

    Hi,

I am actually totally confused with reading adsense now. Sometimes it tells me that I have earnings, sometimes it tells me that I don't.

I am not sure how I have the seven day earnings that I have with what they say I earn day to day.

The only thing I can say is, that the average over seven days is increasing. Which is great.

I would suggest that you do not worry about the dip, because dips do happen, and just look at your overall performance.

Also, have your sites sank in the rankings? If any slip off page one that usually makes a difference.

Another thing, if your sites are very new then Google puts them up and down all over the place. It is best to just keep adding backlinks and wait for it to settle.

    Best wishes,

    Ruth

As Gale10 said, watch the overall performance. You also have to test out different layouts, maybe the people really don't click on the ads. Are you using a adsens template?
Your earnings can be really unstable in the beginning.
What I can say is, that your message has nothing to do with your problem. This only means, that you won't recive your earnings until you do what the message says.

I think the best adsense ads is using the large rectangle ad and not using graphic ad, also do not using standard 468x60 because people already know if 468x60 is an advertising.

Adsense need more effort and a lot of website if you want to generate a lot of income.

Agreed....the name of the game with Adsense is volume, so you need a LOT of sites making a little each or a HUGE site with a lot of pages. For most people it is easier to do more sites with thinner content.

I agree, that message will not prevent you from earning on your clicks. Are you only using adsense to monetize your page? I would give people other ways to spend their money on my site and not rely strictly on adsense. The reason I ask, is with 600 views per page you should be making some money, or something is wrong.

Test, test, test! Keep testing it until you find a better performer, then split that against something new. Keep doing this and picking the winner. When find two that are performing to your satisfaction, split off of those.... hope this helps.

I really do think you need to relax, it's not a disaster. If your revenue went from $10000 to $0 then there would be issues. But there can be fluctuations in revenue. They have weird ways of calculating their revenue. Just wait a few days to see if it does anything.

It happens.I always take average the revenue. You cannot make good revenue every day with adsense.Your traffic is also quite low at present. You need to increase it.If you are running a wordpress blog i would suggest an adsense optimized theme.Bluesense and Prosense yield good adsene ctr.

I was making between $7 and $20 a day on Adsense for November and some of December. Since then I haven't broken $4. Adsense is definitely starting to get on my nerves. CTR has dropped to a third, my ads are now crap and nothing has changed. Go figure!

I had the exact same message from google for quite awhile, but the adsense clicks still kept coming in. When you get all of your payment info filed and accepted, the message will go away.

Today I made $1.92 on adsense, yesterday .24, and for the week I have $3.84. That seems to be about average for adsense on my sites and it is a standard pattern, up, down, way up, then nothing, nothing, nothing, then up again.

It is only in the long term that you can average your earnings and say with certainty how much you are making per day. I've seen a number of folks come here and say they started a blog a few weeks before and are now earning $XX per day. I always wonder how they can know what they are making per day since they haven't been at it long enough to average out a daily rate. One or two high days doesn't mean you are actually making that much any more than finding $5 laying in the street means you will find $5 more every other day of your life. It's the long term average that counts.

      Hi,

I am not sure if this will apply to all you guys, as I am in the UK, and it might be different in the US.

To get an accurate view of what I have been earning on adsense, and I mean not estimates, but actual earnings, you need to click aggregate data and not channel data.

The button is on the top right of advanced reports on the adsense page.

I am writing this as I was confused (see previous post) but figured it out - you may well all know this but I didn't - it might help someone less experienced.

      All the best,

The problem with adsense is that people are conned into
believing it is an easy way to riches.

The ebbs and flows of the internet are not constant.

One day's search word's are not tomorrow's search words.

The traffic you get on Monday may be dramatically different
          than you get on Friday.

When google tells you that xyz gets umpteen searches a month,
that is an overall average. Sometime it may be half that. And who
          knows about next month?

Adsense seems to be a matter of luck for a vast majority.

Once in a while, even for a while, you may get traffic of non-clickers.

Google never guarantees anything. In fact, they don't want you to
even think about guaranteed money. But people do. And they have
no one to blame, so they think they must blame google. They don't
even think about working harder, which is really what they should be
          doing.

I'm sure large sites fluctuate too. But maybe because it is large sums,
it does not seem as drastic. Making between $300 and $900 a day is
a fluctuation of 66% That fluctuation looks worse to someone who is
          going from $9 to $3. Or $3 to $1. Or $1 to $0.33

I had a site that was getting 100+ visitors per day, but in 6 months only made about $20 total from Adsense. I've had success with other niches, but that one just didn't work.

To be honest I think the problem was that it was a tech-related niche where most visitors were particularly web-savvy (there might have been widespread usage of adblockers as well). Also, Adsense was showing ads that were only somewhat related to my sites topic. On reflection I should have done more research into what ads were available before moving on that niche.

Hope your luck is better and things improve though

    K Goel,

I hope it's obvious to you that, the fact that you have had no clicks is not Google's fault. It just means your visitors aren't clicking on your ads.

That having been said... where are your ads located? Are they "above the fold," in an easy-to-spot place? Do the colors of your ads draw your visitors' eyes to them(That doesn't mean the colors have to be loud)? Have you experimented with different ad sizes/colors/placements?

No one can blame Adsense because your visitors aren't seeing/clicking your ads. If you haven't done so, I also suggest you take a look at the AdSense "Heatmap," which shows the placements that are most proven to convert into clicks.

    Hope it helps.

Karan, the message has nothing to do with the actual earnings you make.

Since you're from India, you will be sent a letter to your billing address with an enclosed PIN number. You will have to enter this PIN to remove the message.

You'll also need to enter your tax info.

Remember that AdSense performs differently on different days. Somedays, you'll get a CTR in excess of 25%, while other days, you won't make a penny. Just stick with it and don't give up!

Yes, you can place 3 of the normal ad blocks, plus link units, plus a search box, and more. Check the Adsense site for guidelines on the specific do's and don'ts.

Also remember that "more" is not always "better." Even though you can use all of these things on one page, does not mean it will be tasteful or effective to do so. On pages with little content, you may want to dial the ads back a little.

In November and December, people are in shopping mode and advertising mode. More money is spent in those months than in any other months of the year. It makes total sense that advertisers would spend less $ in January and consumers would be less interested in buying in January. This in turn would cause great decreases in Adsense revenue. I suspect that January would regularly be the lowest paying Adsense month of the year, except in niches like weight loss & others that taylor to New Years resolutions.
