How much worse is keyword(randomletterorword).com compared to keyword.com?

hello,

I am in the midst of buying a domain name and I have two options.

I can buy my best keyword as keyword.mobi OR .me OR .biz

OR I can buy this setup keywordsite.com OR keywordS.com (with an "s" attached to the end)

The last letter or word doesnt matter it could be anything.

What is your experience, is the extra letter worth the .com, or once you add something to the end does it kinda ruin the seo benifits of having your main keyword be your whole url?

I am talking purely in terms of search engine placement.

Buy both, put different content on each, and try it out. I've found both outcomes to randomly happen. Just depends on the words, or niche, or the alignment of the planets. No matter what happens you still won't have a concrete answer, so always explore all your options.

But my guess is that keywordS.com is your best bet.

I only use the three top level domains for ranking and found the EMD to be the absolute easiest way to rank for keywords. I have a much harder time trying to rank any domain with extra words.

thanks, I thought of doing this, but there are actually about 4 domains with this same situation. So I would rather just buy 1 for each. Although they are good keywords so I might just pick the best 1 or 2 and buy both versions.

      Thanks again!

      Sorry, but what is EMD?

And if the top 3 level domains extentions are easier to rank for, but you also have a hard time ranking domains with extra words ... which would you go for?

Thanks Again for the help you two

    Hi,

In my experience, As long as the main keyword is in the domain, it doesn't matter. The only thing i would not settle for is a partial keyword as the domain.
