Do Un-Realted OUTBOUND Links hurt your "relevancy" to Google?

hey guys,

Many people debate about the value of non-relevant backlinks, and whether or not they helpful or harmful. I personally believe they are NOT harmful, but how helpful they are is debatable...I think it more depends on Anchor Text and the power of that backlink - your thoughts?

Second part of question: Does having all kinds of unrelated OUTBOUND links make your site less relevant or hurt your rankings? Of course would be hard to prove, and I'm talking about having links pages totally seperate from your index, ones you don't care about ranking in the engine, just for the purpose of link exchanges, etc.

Do you believe that If your Domain about Car Insurance shows hundreds of non-car-insurance links out hurts you, or does it only hurt you if your linking to a bad link partner, ie a bad neighborhood.

your thoughts?

      nobody has an opinion?

Everybody seems to think un-related INBOUND links hurt, although I don't think they really do, because we can't control who links to us.

        Chew on this:
The Warrior Forum has, what, a zillion outbound links?
All on a zillion different subjects, niches, etc.?
And Warrior Forum is hurt because.......?
