Quick Way To Check Site Listings

You know how sometimes you get asked what seems to be the simplest of questions yet you don't know the answer?

I got asked today if I knew a quick way of finding out where a new website is listed in Google in the SERPs.

I had to admit I didn't know.

Have scoured through some youtube videos and Google pages but nothing really fits the question.

So the next best place to come is here :-)

So . . . how do you find what page your new site is on other than scrolling though all the listings??

if your website is not listed within the first 5 pages of SERP for the keywords you are after.. it will not do you much good... if you just want to test if the website is listed.. type in the domain name in the search box..

That's not true. I'll often check the SERPs for my newer sites to see if something I'm doing SEO-wise is having any impact in the rankings. I don't care if my new site is #800. I want to know if my efforts are moving it up, down, or having no impact at all. That knowledge is invaluable.

yes.. but for consumers they normally do not look beyond the first few pages..statistically

No kidding. I can't remember the last time I looked beyond about Page 4 for something on Google. But the OP's question had nothing to do with that. It's about learning where you currently sit so you can make changes and see what those changes do to your ranking position.
