How to Alternate Anchor Text for Your Links?

I've heard you don't want the same exact anchor text when building links (looks suspiscious, makes sense) but I'm wondering. Let's say I want to rank for the keyword "how to take care of a betta fish". What percent of my links should say exactly that? And when I do alternate, should they be slight variations such as "take care of betta fish" or should I use a secondary keyword like "caring for Betta fish"? I'm not sure if that's the right thing to do as it might confuse google as to what i want to rank for.

What do you think?

  • You can use any of the keyword as alternative but make sure that it is relevant to your first keyword and also it has some amount of monthly searches. Use any of the keyword research tools to find this.
