Hey Warriors

I have my first 2 offline clients lined up they both have wbsites that are not doing 2 well and are going to need alot of on page seo done to them
like meta tags, H1 tags and site maps etc, what would you charge for this service? I am also going to be doing all the off page stuff for them on a continuity basis and was wondering what you guys charge monthly for this service?

I will do all the off page stuff myself but I will need to outsource the onpage seo for the time being as I am not that well versed as of yet, how much can this be outsourced for on average?

Thanks in advance

Bryan

Well offline clients are most likely not so smart about SEO but you also don't want to rip them off. For on-page SEO work I suggest charging $100-200 and then for off-page I couldn't tell you because I don't know how much work you will put in.

I would be looking to get them ranked 1 for local search terms such dentists in glasgow, then I would move on to another keyword, all the time trying to maintain there rankings across all keywords.

For onpage SEO, I charge a base rate of 500.00. If it requires site restructuring then it goes up from there depending on the time involved.

Onpage SEO is only half the equation though, even more so for local businesses. That's where I construct a market reach for the area. To keep a long process short here, I like to pick on area News channels and publications that meet a certain criteria to the product/service.

Online coupon marketing does really well for local businesses. As well as business co-ops.

You can gather a more accurate figure for on the page SEO by asking other SEO people, but it's harder for off the page. The reason being is that it depends on the keyword research! That keyterm seems a little competitive though...

I charge businesses in my local area $200-300 per month for ongoing SEO services. That was to cut my teeth, now I have a client paying 1K/month. I'm not planning on accepting anyone for under $500/month. Of course that also means I will need to stick to markets that charging this type of price is realistic.

How competitive is the market you are working with?

You should also keep in mind that a good service performed to this client can open many, many doors for you. I was so excited when I got my first client!

Why not just work out a day or hourly rate the usual way.

I agree with Freudianslip - making sure that you do a great job will open a lot of doors. I did a job for a client recently and put in a lot more than I was paid for really (charged £1250 for a market research report & £1050 for a report showing them how to apply that to their website - restructuring, titles, hi, general content, etc, etc).

They were so happy that their web designer has put me in touch with the IT manager of a real estate firm he designed the sites for and I'm now talking to them about doing a similar thing for 20 websites they have!!

Obviously I'll have to do a much better price per site, but that's okay because most of the general market research etc will apply to them all.

All of that from 1 highly satisfied customer
