How to get reliable info on google top 10 backlinks?

I have been using the free version of traffic travis and also have seo quake on firefox.

When checking the top ten on google either with traffic travis or seo quake the number of backlinks for the sites are frequently different.

Lately seo quake is showing 0 backlinks on alot of the top 10 and I am suspicious this isn't right.

Are either of these programs reliable for that information.

    Yahoo siteexplorer is your best bet , it shows pretty much 100% of a sites backlinks. No need to use any fancy tools for that.

    The best free option is yahoo site explorer or the free version of SEO Spyglass.

    For a paid program...
    I use the paid version of SEO Spyglass and it aggregates the backlinks from many sources, removes dupes, and then can analyze the backlinks for you. It really is worth every penny.

    Also note that there could be something like a 301 redirect at play. They may have a tons of links all pointing to site X, but then site X is a 301 redirect to site Y.

      yeah alot of people forget about looking for redirects , Im also a paid user of SEO Spyglass , I currently use the who suite and it does make life easier , especially when you have to manage alot of clients or sites at once
