What is a good PR sites to submit Backlinks?

Is there a way to know or learn what is the PR site value? like Squidoo, Hub, Wordpress, Blogspot, articles directories or anything?

and as for articlebase, it is a nofollow directory? at least this was what I got from this site:

List Of Top 50 Article Directories By Traffic, PageRank

What do you guys think?

Edit:
By the way, is there any other sites should I submit or to do to increase my backlink? What other option remains?

So far, the only sites that I only know are Ezine, GoArticles, Dashboard, Wordpress.org, Squidoo, Hubpages, and ..and...nothing.

Anyone mind to fill me in for more option?

You can try forums. There are many good forums with very high PR but remember not to spam them because you will be banned very quickly and your post will be removed. In the end it will be a waste of time. A tip for you is to find forum on areas you are familiar. There is more chance you will know some of the discussion which you can post some meaningful postings.

Install Google toolbar, it will show you the PR value of all the sites you go to.

Yes, Articlebase is nofollow. So if your goal is purely backlinks to get SEO, i guess there is little value to post there. But then, people might go there to get your articles to post on their blogs. You might still get some backlinks of those blogs owner do keep your links and use a follow tag. So whether to post there or not depends on you. If you have the time and energy, why not just post it.

Yes agreed. You could try SEOQuake plugin enabled with your firefox and get some high PR links to your niche. As keyword related links provide more link juice.

Not exactly it is wasted time. Google somehow will see that links and you will have traffic from articles too. But of course try to focus on dofollow directories or other sites.

Don focus on only one single article directory! You need to have multiple backlink sources!

You can find out if a site is dofollow or nofollow by checking out the page source. Go to the page and click on Cntrl U, the page source comes up.

Thanks for your advice but what would the other sources be? Some short list would be appreciated.

If primary reason for posting articles is to have backlinks which help for higher ranking in search engines then don't waste your time posting articles to a directory which will have no follow back links.

you can check whether a page of an article directory is providing no follow or do follow link. just see the source code of the article page and you can then find if your site/or other site is getting any do follow or no follow link.

Another question just come across my mind.

If I going to put my link into the resource box for every article directories, what kind of link should I put?

    here is some example:

    1) www.mysite.com
    2) www.mysite.com/howtobeatadogwith finger

Option 1 or option 2 or it work for both option?

This depends on which keywords you want to target.

For example, if you want to rank for the keyword "beat a dog" and if your option 2 page is optimzed for the keyword "beat a dog" too, you should use URL 2.

keivn2, you can try those article submission services.

One good service which I am using is Unique Article Wizard. It is very different from most of the submission services. It will submit unique version of your article to hundreds of directories and websites so that Google will not penalize you for duplicate content.

So far I am happy with the result. For one of my keyword, I have been using it to increase my backlinks in additional to some forum posting and social bookmarking. Now I am #3 in Google. My goal is to hit #1 and I believe I can do it.

What do you mean duplicate content? You mean if I have article A and submitted it all over the article directories and that going to labelled as duplicate content?

If yes, Oh my..I just submitted at least 18 same articles to 3 articles directories.
        {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[1631765].message }}

Yes it will be labelled as duplicate content.

Penalize is the term that most SEO expert used. In actual fact, the term might not be that accurate. This is actually what happen. If Google sees that you have 10 backlinks having the same content, it is believed that Google only used one of them and tends to ignore the rest. It does not 'penalize' in the sense that it deducts points from you or labels your site as bad.

So it is better and safer to use tools like unique article wizard to spin unique version of the articles before submitting.

Oh I see...I guess that I going to ignore those 18 articles and avoid doing the same for my next article submission. By the way, the tool that you speak, is it free?

I think Ezine is indeed a good choice because it is love by Google and it usually index much faster at the same time the traffic it gives is indeed awesome

It is better to go ahead with other methods too, Such as blog commenting, social bookmarks, forums postings and etc. However, these article submissions or the content postings are the ways to get quick increment of your SERP as well as those links are treated as niche related links, So, google gives more value to them than other ways.

Find Forums that you are familiar with. For example cooking sites. There are a lot of high PR forums there and I'm sure everyone can give some kind of intelligent input about food. Like how to boil an egg...etc. You get the picture.

You can use yahoo site explorer, google search using the 'link' tag or your google webmaster central.

But note that they do not show you all the backlinks you have. The figure is more of indicative rather than the actual figure. But it is good enough to get a sense of how successful is your backlinking.

I think it's also good to post article in articlebase though it's no follow. But if your article is unique and informative then you can expect to get good traffic from it. Obviously we do post in do follow sites for getting backlinks but you can't also ignore the importance of traffic! Anyway I think now it's more worth to post in niche forums, commenting in blogs and obviously post unique content in your blog (whether it's in your own domain or in wordpress/blogspot etc.), social bookmarking your post and posting unique with informative content (like articles and blogs) in squidoo and link back your site. I don't think posting similar contents in so many article directories can do much in Google.

EZA is great for traffic, but once you have a couple articles, it's useless for real backlinks.

If you want to check PR, as eidorian (I believe) said first, use google toolbar.

For finding great resources for dofollow backlinks, use Market Samurai promotion module.

If you really want to use articles to backlink, use tools like jetsubmitter and senuke.

To blast forums and whatnot, you need to look into bluefart methods (not that senuke and jetsubmitter aren't at least more than a little bluefart).

You need to hit everything out there in order to get backlinks. Look at your number one competitor using seo spyglass (free download) and hit every single backlink source they use. Then rinse and repeat with the number 2 competitor and so on... I am a firm believer in overkill/shock and awe/etc...

Do everything they do, and do everything everyone else does. Just completely annihilate everyone in the top ten, and you're going to see some results.

No website is penalized for duplicate content when articles have been republished all over the net. Its more commonly called the duplicate content filter because it does just that, it filters out all but one or 2 versions of the article from the serps and drops them in the supplemental index.

You are only penalized when the same content is used twice on the same website.

To make sure that your original article is the one thats still in the serps, be sure to link back to it from the republished versions.

People get to worried about duplicate content and think republishing the same article on multiple directories is a waste of time but believe me, its definitely worth it.

All you need to do is make a little extra effort and create a different Title for the article, each time you publish it on a directory.

To guarantee every republished copy doesn't get filtered out, add a different introduction and conclusion to the articles. That only needs to be a few lines.

All back links will now count, each article will rank for its own individual title, all while using the same article. Will save you a lot of time and effort and you will still get the full benefits from your submission efforts.
    Signature
Will be the next authority article directory. Come take a look around. Submit and Publish your own articles.
