How do I scatter adsense highlighting words in my web site content?

Dear friends,
I want to implement adsense on my sites just like this site: Buying Mineral Makeup

I looked at adsense setup in my adsense account but there is nothing of the sort. Is this done with some sort of wordpress plugin, how exactly do I put my adsense code to hgihlight some words like that site?

I really appreciate any help.

If you look at the page source you can see a bunch of adsense stuff in the code. There are no obvious adsense ads. This site makes something like $90/mo and they said it's monetized with adsense. I checked all the links and they don't seem to be affiliate links, either. It may be some clever adsense trick or some wordpress adsense plugin stuff.

Who is "they"? Where are you getting these stats?

And I didn't see an adsense publisher id in the source code. Also, adsense links use the following format: "hxxp://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/aclk?sa=l&ai=B5bgXKMdKS5mQK....."

I think I saw this site posted on WF somewhere, stating it sold on flippa or something? so maybe the new owner removed adsense...

Yes it was mentioned they sold it on flippa and there were screenshots of adsense earnings and what not.

Maybe the new owner removed it then.
I am trying to put adsense on my new sites but people advised the users got smart and don't click adsense ads and I should use different size adsense etc. I really don't know much about adsense techniques and what's the best adsense stuff to use. Any recommendations where to put the adsense and how big? I am making micro niche blogs with articles.

  I find CTR varies not only based on your template, adsense block size, position, etc... but also on your keyword.
  
  For example I will have the same template running on 10 different domains, but my monthly CTR varies anywhere from 5% to 60%... so there is not a single magical setup... but through testing you will find what generally performs the best.
  
  So keep testing, maybe once your site has about 500 uniques, switch it up to something else for the next 500 uniques. Record and compare the data, try it again. Start off with something relatively proven like the bluesense wordpress theme, and begin testing from there.

Thanks for the help and replies. I guess it will take some trial and error to figure out what works and what doesn't. I will try different colors and ad styles. I created some adsense channels to track it so that should help.
