Is it correct that you can have no more than three adsense ad blocks per page?

And the more ad blocks that you have per page the less each ad pays?

  • Yes on both.

In my opinion, you should only have one or maybe two blocks per page. Google will show ads in the order they pay out, so the more ads you show, the more lower payings ads appear on your page.

  • WOW... this is great insight... I though that we can just slab as many as we like. So a tarted one block should do the job.

Where in the page should it be placed. Top, Middle, Bottom? What's the best techniques to get the best click through.??

    Thanks for future thoughts.
  • yes this is true you can not put more than 3 block of adsence in per page but of one sections you can also put 4 adsence block in a web page without hesitation... but its good that put not more than 2 block in per page for good CTR....
  • That's true . 3 ads per page is "the perfect number" of ads.
  • I recommend to follow the rules what google people gave to us. 3 ads on blog is already good.

    • There is a difference between 3 ads and 3 blocks of ads..
  • I've had best results with one 250 by 250 block at the top of the page.
  • It is true that you can have three blocks only per page. Some large companies like EZA and about.com can have more than three , but that is by special arrangement from google.

    • You can put 3 ad boxes, and 3 link boxes for a total of 6.
EZA does not have more than 3 ad boxes, they have 3 plus
      1 link box.

People swear that the less you have the better.

Only you can answer that question by long term experimentation.

There is a catch-22. If you have only one ad block, then you
are at the mercy of the ads that are shown. Sometimes, they
can be way off topic no matter how many you block. One bad ad
seems to replace the other bad ad. This is only for some niches.

The more blocks, the more chance of a targeted ad appealing to
more viewers, but the PPC will be a lot smaller. But, something is
      better than nothing, right?

Look at the way EZA integrates the ads. The are very unobtrusive
because they look and feel as if they are part of the page.

Your site may look down right lame with so many ads.

In the end, only you can decide what works best for you.

  • Yes, it's only three
  • you can use 3 regular ad blocks and 3 link units on the same page. This is the max you can do.
  • People may be unhappy with this but it makes sense.....a website with more than 3 would just look ridiculous. I really don't like when I am bombarded by adds upon visiting a website.
  • When one asks a question that is clearly answered the the TOS it shows they will probably never really be successful.

    • I make the most $$$ when I have one large (standard size rectangle) adsense block per page.
  • To me, 3 is better than 1.
  • The number size and position will depend upon your particular site. To a large degree it will also depend upon your needs. Are you making pages that are designed to reduce people's perceived choices, you wanna force them into ads or maybe you see ads as a supplement and less important than the content.

If you have multiple blocks then the highest paying ads will likely come at the top left quadrant of the page becasue that is, in most cases, the hottest spot on the page. You may find as I did on many sites that an ad block placed there was at least effective as having multiple blocks and not having a block in that location. You will need to experiment to find optimum locations sizes and even colour schemes to use.

  • Yes it's true. You can have only three adsense ad blocks per page. As long as you know where to place the ads so as to get more clicks, it should be fine.
