Is too many BackLinks from 1 website a good thing?

Hey guys, I recently launched a new website, an was doing the usual back linking procedures.

I left a blog comment on a website with a link back to my website, and I noticed that within a couple days I got like 20 back links from various pages on the website I made the blog comment on, and every day I continue to get more from them.

Should I be worried about getting sand boxed by Google for an influx of backlinks to a website that is less than 2 weeks old, even though that are mostly coming from one website?

Any advice would be appriciated.

Thankyou.

what probably has happened is that blog has a recent comments widget running in the sidebar.

it's not uncommon and it's not going to hurt your site.

you're just seeing a temporary inflation of backlinks from that site because you're comment happened to be in the recent comments list when google last spidered the site.

If you think that's a problem, then everyone needs to delete their sigs here
on warriors. I'd hate to have people sandboxed by too many backlinks from
      one site.

While you're worrying about backlinks, your competition is getting them
      pumped up and not stopping.

I'd sure like to meet the person who came up with this too many backlinks
too quick thing. Then I'd ignore everything else he said.

Cool.....Thankyou for the quick response....I know getting alot of back links are important, but being a new website I was just worried Google would see an influx of backlinks as some sort of spam or something and have a negative effect on my rankings.

    Thanx for the explaining guys

It's not a bad thing, but it won't matter more to the SEs than a single link would though.

    paulgl,

You are dead wrong buddy. Google will absolutely sandbox you if you get too many backlinks too quickly. But it takes way more than 20. It takes hundreds real fast.

The more backlinks the better. Besides that how are you building your links?

      Man are you archaic.

Again, while you are twiddling your thumbs, your competition is tearing it up.

Do you want to compete or do you not want to compete?

Start getting backlinks, as many as you can, don't stop.

      The myth continues, unfortunately.
