Hidden text backlinks

Hi everyone. I was doing a backlink check on one of my sites today and noticed that there is one site that is linking to my home page from almost every page on the site. However, after looking for my links on the page, I can't find them anywhere. This leads me to believe that someone is hiding backlinks to my site in an attempt to hurt my rankings.

And from what I understand, hidden backlinks will hurt your rankings. So...what can I do about this?

Maybe it was on there and now it is not. Did you check the source for your site to see if it is actually on there?

That is just from a recent comment plugin or similar.

If you are really paranoid do a search in the source code. If it isn't there it doesn't exist.

  Yep you're absolutely right. I just realized that they have a recent comments plugin. Ok phew. Kinda had me worried for a minute.
