As far as I know if the link in the original pdf is clickable (even from an image) then it should be the same after uploading to scribd.

I had the same problem, and thought it would take more time for it to process. I found out later that by uploaded .doc or .docx the internal hyperlinks don't work (they are just plain text). I saved it as a .pdf on my desktop (Windows) computer, reuploaded it (as a revision so I can keep the same URL) and it works fine. I did, however, tried to save it was a .pdf on my Macbook, but that failed, the text were not converted to hyperlinks. My advice, use your Windows computer to save the file as a .pdf and upload it to scribd.
