Mininum traffic to place adsense

I've always thinked that is stupid to place adsense in a new site with no traffic.

I thought that minimum visits to start placing some ads would be around 500 a day. Now I'm wondering if placing adsense helps you to improve.

I mean, maybe Google thinks 'hey, this guy is placing adsense, i'll be watching him" and by the way you get more 'atention' from Google helping you (if you earn they earn as well)

So,
  • do you think placing ads helps new sites or makes them look like MFA sites?
  • what's the minimun traffic you will recommend to reach to place ads?

  • If you plan on putting ads on the site why wait? Obviously you will make more money the more traffic you have but why wait until you reach your target? All you are doing is wasting visitors.

I do not see that there is any magic number that you have to have before trying to monetize a site. If it is built and ready to go try and make a couple bucks from it. That is why you have it in the first place.

One of the sites I just created this past week has had less than 100 visitors total but it has already brought in $5. Now that is not very much money but in my mind I should go ahead and take whatever the site will give me while I start working on promoting it.

With the keywords I am targeting for this site I doubt it will every get 500 visits a day, I am thinking more like 3-5k a month but that should put me in the $150-$200 range a month which is well worth doing since the setup did not take very long and other than building some links and checking on it once in awhile to make sure that it is not broke it will just run on its own with no input from me.

I doubt that adding an ad or two is going to help you get ranking but I do not see that it will hurt and like I said every dollar you make just makes life easier.

    • I agree. Why you are waiting? You can put the ads now itself. If you will get only 1 click per day, then also you will get some money. So don't waste time.

  • Taking this logic, it would be stupid to place content on a new site with
    no traffic as well.

My biggest earners never get 500 visitors a day. Not even close.

  • I think unless you're trying to get into a picky directory (like DMOZ, which is close to impossible) for a huge authority site, there's really no reason to wait to put up ads.
  • For me, there is no reason to put adsense if you have less than 100 uniques per day.

But it depends also on the website niche.

    • i bet you make no money at all. If you have the right keyword cpc $20.00 recieveing 100 visitors a day . 5% ctr you could easily be making $20-$50 a day .

  • don`t give up to make money with adsense.
yes,if you want to make money with adsense
    you should follow this formula:

    blog + traffic+traffic+traffic= money.

if you have no traffic, your adsense income
    will not improve.

do you know how much traffic that you should
have to get adsense income for thousands or at least
    $500??

i can say 5,000 visitors per day,at least.
this figures in case you don`t want to face competitors
    that has high paying keyword.

and the best position to put
your ads are at the header, above of post,
    and below of post.

the text ads normally has more
    payment compare to image ads.

there is no way to get money from
adsense unless you have a lot of traffic.

try to promote your blog from time
to time.i believe that one day you will get a handsome result
from adsense google but what you have to do
is try to get traffic first!

    g luck..

  • Completely agreed. And Google won't care.

I think this should be classified as:

"Google-Paranoia - The irrational and unfounded fear that Google is watching your every move online; spending hours pouring over your websites looking for suspicious behavior or AdSense code added far too quickly for their tastes, mister."
