New adsense model- this may be important

I was researching info on the race car driver Jimmy Johnson to help my son with a school project. I was using ask.com & bing.

I then went to an article directory and looked-up a financial article. To my surprise, all of the adsense text ads were related to Jimmy Johnson!

G knew where I was from the tool bar.

What are the implications if this becomes the rule? If you spend time and money developing a site for high paying phrases, G may decide to display ads not related to your topic.

sounds like they were still relevant to you, the visitor, though. That's an interesting observation, though.

I think it all depends on how you look at this one - more relevant ads to the visitor could mean more click-throughs, even if they are not directly related to your website's topic.

100% true. I'm thinking from the point of view of someone that has much invested in getting traffic for the very competitive, high paying phrases.

This is not new. Google displays a percentage of ads using the visitors search habits or his recent seaches.

    Not very good imho.
