A question about Angela and Paul type links

I apologize if this is in the wrong spot. I have a question for people who use Angela's and Paul's backlinks (from the looks of it, that's many of you). I have subscribed and am excited to make these links work for me however being that they are mostly profile sites my question is, Do I have to post with the link in my signature?

Can I just make the account and leave it at that? Or do I need to make a post or two? The reason I ask is because I hadn't seen any reason to make any posts and Angela gave very specific instructions when a post was required. However one of paul's links was the exact kind of link in Angela's packet (profile on a high PR forum) and said "after you've made your post..." While it's embarrassing to ask this question, to put in work only to realize it was all for naught would be much more embarrassing.

Another side question how important is it that my username be my keyword?

Thanks to anybody who takes the time to clarify this for me.

Andy"SC"Wilson.

You only need to make a post when the instructions say to, otherwise just make the profile with your links in the profile.

Making your username the keyword can go against you by making your account look spammy, I get better results using a normal looking name, but a lot depends on the keyword.

For example if it was "viagra" you would not want that in your name as it would attract the moderators attention.

But if it was "gift baskets" then a username like "GiftBasketGuy" would probably be ok and fly under the radar.

    (1) Please, for your sake and the rest of us, do not use your keyword as your username. That will only draw attention to your profile. Use a real name. Search "random name generator" in google if you want some help. What you want to do is use your keyword as an anchored link (whether html or bbcode, depending on the site).

    (2) I'm pretty sure that all of Angela's links these days do not require any sort of posting for your profile and any links in your profile to be publicly viewable and active. In fact, if you are going for profile type links, I would try to say away from sites that require posting (which really is very few). Sites on the punbb platform (see "powered by punbb" in the footer of the site) typically do have viewable unanchored URL links, but you do have to post once in order for your signature to be viewable (signatures typically allow anchored links). Also, posting draws attention to your profile which in most cases you probably don't want.

Now, another viable strategy is posting in high PR forums, using your signature links to help give you a boost (can also give you pass-through traffic from those reading the forums). This is a different strategy though than what we call profile links, but can certainly be used in conjunction with pure profile links.

  • Depends on the site and if you want your link crawled or not.

A lot of profile links never get crawled. A lot of sig file links don't get crawled either.

    Good luck grinding it out.

Its not that hard to get profile links crawled & indexed by google. I have a >50% indexing rate within 24-48 hours using a souped up version of sean donahue's backlink booster.

Thanks for the clarity. Do you have any tips for getting those links crawled/indexed for those of us without a souped up version of Sean's backlink booster?

The best way to get indexed by google are doing social bookmarking and pinging for your each profile which you create.

Never use keywords as username unless you are very sure that it will not look spammy. Many high PR forum sites immediately delete your account if it is considered as spammy. To get indexed in google, ping your profile link so that indexing % increases very quickly.

    why don't you ask them?

honestly, with all the people who come here to ask questions about their products, do they not have any tech support?
