Question # 1.
Regarding 301 redirects, are you eventually supposed to remove the page you're redirecting away from?

Question #2
Is it okay for a 301 redirect to stay in place forever, in the case of redirecting from a non-WWW url to a WWW url?

All my inbound links are to my www URL, except for just *one* link. This one lone link has made my non-WWW url have the same PR as my www URL. (Probably because this one link comes from a super-important company).

Would it accomplish anything to do a 301 redirect (mod-rewrite) from my non-WWW url to my WWW url? If I do the 301 redirect, would I eventually remove it? Or set it and just forget about it?

Thank you!

You use mod rewrite to direct the non www to the www and just leave it - if you take it off later then you're back to square 1.
