"Am I currently putting words on the internet?"
Or to put it another way:
"Am I currently engaged in the process of composing a document that will act as a revenue-producing web property?" -- on to which, people will come and, some of which, will perform an action that makes me money.
"Am I currently putting backlinks on a website that links to my own?"
"Am I currently writing an article to get backlinks?"
"Am I currently crafting a PDF document which I will be selling online?"
"Am I currently adding to the number of articles on my megasite?"
"Am I currently launching a new PPC campaign"
"Am I currently launching a new website?"
Contrast the above, with the below tasks -- which (more often than not) do not generate revenue in and of themselves:
These tasks might help you pick "Better" words to put on the internet. (e.g. the low competition words.)
These tasks might help you make "More" words faster. (e.g. via article spinning or auto-posting programs)
But it is oh so easy to lose focus on what ultimately actually makes you money online.
You make money online when you put words on the internet.
