Backlinks and PR a few questions

I been confused between the two when you are posting your links. When I submit my links to a site which PR do you count? domain or the directory?

For example :

google.com/ = PR10 <<<this one?
google.com/forums = PR 5 <<< this one?

And if the domain has a good PR and I post in the inner pages (PR0)through a forum signature it still helps rank ?

One more question is the web site doesn't have to be relevant with your content?

  • Hi,

Where ever you post your link alwalys remember that it should have
atleast a pr of 1,2 because n/a doesn't have a value to get good pr in
    search engines...

    Thanks/

  • Frqhuss makes a valid point. Anything beyond pr 1 or 2 loses relevance. Also, the website does not HAVE to be relevant to your campaign. However, for consumer targeting and high click-throughs (getting the most of your exposure), you will want the website to be relevant to your campaign, as much as possible. There are tricks to bid on less expensive keywords, if you can find creative keywords that relate to your campaign that most will not think to bid on.

Another tip, you can bid on misspelled keywords for example instead of bidding on "diet", you can bid on "deit" and it would be less expensive, and still give you exposure you are looking for, relevant to the campaign.
  • PR is not important. Its your rankings that counts most.
