Article auto-submissions....do all those links get picked up?

I am getting ready to grap myself a copy of Big Mikes Articlebot but i've been reading in some forums that if you submit to 400 directories that Google is only going to credit you for the first link it picks up and dismisses the rest as duplicate content.

If that's the case why submit to 400 sites if your only going to get the juice for one....and if Google grabs the first one from a REALLY crappy site why not only submit to Ezine for a good quality backlink?

  • Just "generally speaking" is it important to make sure you are getting links from a variety of quality sources. Just repeating the same articles over and over is only going to get you so far, and if you have tons of repeated and/or low quality links, it could be a real problem in the long run.
  • You definitely want links from other sources. Just from what I've seen once you have one backlink from an ip address/site the others don't offer much link juice.
  • You get credit for more than one link but not all.

    • I have a similar question... Do you get benefit from submitting to the same article directories over and over again?
      I guess for traffic it is good... but don't the links from the article sites devalue?
    • To clarify, all of the articles may not be indexed far as being included in SERPs but they still count toward your backlinks and can help your site's SERPs. You can also get more traffic from them.

  • I dont submit to all these article directories, most of them dont even get indexed by google....so save your time and just submit to the good ones - ezines, goarticles, articlesbase,articlesnatch, articledashboard and amazines...
    Even if I submit duplicate articles to them, they get indexed and they count as backlinks to my sites..because they came up when I do yahoo site explorer...
