Free marketing can be time consuming but what do you guys think is better to master, PPC or SEO?
#search engine optimization #ppc #seo
  • I do not think at times we are master of anything, times and rules change to fast these days, but we can become students of both.

As to which one we become better at is really up to each person. I often see many people place to much pressure on themselves as to what is best what should i do and other variances.

Rather than that pressure let it go a little imagine your work is now induced by quiet beaches with a chair sitting in the sunlight as it fades away, or in other words remove the pressure of what one must i do, and let your self adapt to both in a quiet way, then without forcing the issue let you mind body n soul naturally pull you to wards the best option for you.

Hope you seen the remove pressure and enjoy , all will be better for it. live by the rules you make for yourself and not those set by the thoughts of others.

    • That is a really delightful little meditation. Thank you for the relaxing moment!
    • Each one has it benefits, but there is a problem with seo. When you want to attract visitors to your website, it takes time to see and achieve the results.
  • IMHO...

PPC is quicker and is good as a front runner

    but...

SEO is better and will finish the race.

    • That's what I'm thinking. I've done pretty well with PPC, but getting it working really well took me several months of working around the clock and a huge financial investment. And it can be very risky if you don't know exactly what you're doing.

When my older brother learned how much I was making online, he decided (being older and wiser, of course :p) that he could easily do just as well. He lost $900 his first day.

It might work for some people in the short term, but now I'd like to build some sites that will keep me going in the long term. PPC is not as reliable.
  • PPC is great for testing because you can get immediate results and massive traffic in no time.

SEO is great to build sustainable autopilot income.

I like to think of it in tandem.

First do PPC to optimize whatever campaign you are doing, then do some SEO for a good base traffic and to build a sustainable income, and then continue PPC depending on the margins you are seeing.
  • They both are good it depends on what your product is and how to promote it.
  • BOTH are great.

While you are waiting for your SEO to kick in full force, use PPC to get traffic NOW.

If you are profitable keep using it.

If you know what you're doing, you will be profitable almost every time.

    • Jason, sounds like you know how to make PPC work. Any suggestions for books, videos, articles or training programs that might help a newbie avoid too many pitfalls?

    • I say master both they both have there advantages and disadvantages.

SEO is great because its free traffic but it is time consuming and you do have to keep promoting your site to stay on top.

Now PPC on the other had cost money and you can lose your shirt if you do not know what you are doing, but PPC is the fastest way to get targeted traffic to your site.

If you learn to master PPC and SEO together each keyword you go after you will be capturing 90% of the traffic if you run campaigns both using PPC and SEO.

And if you are running PPC on your SEO'd site then obviously you will have a killer quality score. If you master both these methods each keyword you target will be its own income stream.

I say master both once you master the PPC game setting up campaigns will only take minutes the bulk of the time will be keyword research. And by running a PPC campaign it will let you know what profitable keywords you should target for your seo campaigns.

You can then outsource all the content and link building since you did the hard part the keyword research.

  • It really depends on what you want to accomplish, it's like comparing apples and oranges here. For fast, instant traffic, there is very little doubt that PPC is the way to go. Of course, you have to pay to get it, and if you don't test and track carefully you are not going to turn a profit on what you spend.

SEO can be time consuming, but if you do it right and target the right keywords it can mean passive income for many months to come once you reach the first page of the search engines. The only thing with SEO is that it can be very time consuming, and you really need to have the faith and persistence to keep working at it for days and (most likely) weeks before you see any actual tangible results, and I believe this is what trips up so many people when it comes to SEO. It takes time and patience to see results, and many people just aren't willing to put in all that considerable effort and then wait to see what results from their efforts.
  • Perfect strategy is "Use Both Wisely"
I recommend you to TEST using PPC method. Lets say, 300 visitors for at least 3 days is OK. If it doesn't work within those 3 days, then you have got something to do.
It will take time to drive some SEO traffic, then why not test using PPC?
Hope my answer will be helpful for you.

    • Thanks,do you guys like to test using the content network or regular search. I would like training on ppc but everyone who trains for it wants $100.00's
  • i think ppc is better than seo
  • I think SEO is better than PPC is Because almost people use Google Search Engine and if you rank higher in Search Engine than you will raise the Margin of profit. and as well as you will get huge traffic to your Site. but for this you have to Use Right Keyword otherwise you are not able to sell you products & services
  • You have certainly master SEO as an internet marketeer. By doing proper SEO meant free and organic traffic which requires no investment once you do all the initial hard work.

Having a PPC campaign will bring good results in short term but not in long term. Do PPC and SEO in combination will work very well.

  • PPC and SEO both are used for same purposes means invite traffic on a website. If you have not time to wait and want to increase business very fast then PPC will be right choice but can wait and not want to extra paid marketing then SEO will be right option.

    Thanks

  • i am using SEO its better then pay per click. we can get organic traffic through SEO
  • It is like a run. Start with PPC to speed things up and make some good SEO to finish the race and forget about project and keep receive money.
  • Both are great. if you want to do it fast use PPC, though organic SEO in the long run is better
  • What are some good courses/ebooks/guides on PPC?
  • Both have their advantages.

If you have the budget, start off with PPC.
You get very targeted traffic, and you can
    quickly gather conversion data.

Optimize your campaign so you know what
    copy and keywords work.

With this info at hand, you are now in a better
position to start on your SEO efforts.

Because you know now what gives better results.

This is the faster and smarter way.

  • I also suggest you use both PPC and SEO. Reason is that at start may be SEO takes some time in giving you results but PPC provides you proper traffic. Once your SEO starts providing you results you can shut down your PPC campaign. In this way you you do not need to wait at first step of business for profit.
  • If you are learning, I would learn both.

PPC provides an immediate result, and with the right profit margins can be very profitable.

SEO on the other hand, take longer to get results from, but once you obtain rankings, you will find that you get more traffic because people are more inclined to select organic listings over paid (by nearly 250%).

    Hope that helps.

  • I am not a fan of google adwords and i think that Newbies should stay away from it to prevent getting broke and disappointed.Affiliate marketing is about hard work, fun and learning.Being an Affiliate marketer is the most interesting and fun job i have ever had.I can`t imagine to stop doing it.You get addicted i think.

    So..Back to the topic.

I have to say that i love SEO-It is so exiting and interesting.
Learning seo is the only way to get your business visible and therefor a must for everyone to learn.
At first i hated SEO.I did not have a clue what it was and it took me a long time before i actually wanted to study it.
Now it is my everyday job to build backlinks and find new techniques to rank higher.

    Annette.
  • I use both. PPC to get immediate results and SEO for long-term benefits.
  • SEO is better because a lot of people are using it right now
and it seems to me that I hve known SEO compare to PPC.

    • I use PPC for "short-term" marketing purposes to get quick traffic,eg new affiliate launch.
But will go for SEO if the website is intended for a longer term purpose, eg Adsense....

  • Hi guys

i quit ppc many years ago because im rubbish at it and it has cost me money too many times. I now hire a team of guys that do my seo for me and its so much cheaper than paying for ppc.

When you start out though you need the traffic to be able to pay for seo so i would have both if i was a beginner.

    kind regards

  • PPC is great ONLY if you have some experience
and have already burnt yourself few times and have spent
    some money learning it.

The obvious advantage is... you could be making sales
in minutes from targeted traffic (if you know what you
    are doing)

SEO is great to build trust with your visitors, because they
will regard you more as an authority... after all you did NOT
pay to be up there... Google thought you were great and
    put you at the front.

Sure SEO is time consuming and slow. But if you are planning
on building a long-term quality asset, I would definitely do
    SEO consistently and naturally!

And if you have the budget, you could basically do both.

And... if you have some consistent SEO traffic your website
will become much more valued... should you decide to sell
    it down the road :-)
  • I always start on a new site with PPC first. Get the income stream started then you can direct your efforts onto SEO.

Time spent on PPC is never wasted. If your doing it right you will have specific landing pages for the keywords. These pages will then be ready made for SEO. Also many of my made for PPC landing pages have received genuine links from forums and blogs etc. So before I even start working on them they are already moving up the natural search listings.

Don't get me wrong given the choice I'd rather be top of the pile for SEO any day, but PPC is terrific as long as your earnings per click (EPC) is higher than your CPC.
  • you may use both to earn more cash!.. because in seo, you never know what you're going to get unless you'll optimize the site very well, With PPC, you're getting what you pay for, but of course that is not easy as well..
  • SEO is better by far, I give adwords ppc as an example, when searching 1% of users will look at sponsored ads to the right, the other 99% will look in the natural results!

PPC is overrated and is now far too costly!
  • i would always recommend SEO until you are not capable to covert that absolutely cold traffic to a buyer
