I want to make sure I understand something. I've been through a couple of courses and I seem to have come to understand something I wanna make sure is legit.

Using micro-niche finder I have found some phrases that are pretty good for my niche.

Like one for example has only 16k exact competition, SOC is very low and requires just 2 back-links.

Am I to understand that if I SEO a page for that term well, provide the necessary 2 back-links I should get on Google's 1 or 2nd page soon?

Provided Google indexes or see's my back-links..

How do you know the site requires only 2 backlinks?

That's not exactly a number you can just pull out of thin air...

      Agreed with above post.

I assume that you are referring to a page that is on the top spot and you think it has only 2 back links.

Use yahoo's site explorer to find out if this page really has only 2 backlinks.

But: even if it has only 2, that does not mean you can outdo it with 2 links of your own.
There's more to SEO, keep learning and asking questions, it's the right thing to do!

I'm using Micro Niche Finder and it gives you a "MEASURE OF BACKLINKS" which gives you an idea of how many backlinks you would need to get on the first page of Google by giving an agregate of those on the first page.

Then it shows the # of EXACT COMPETITION.
and the SEO strength of the pages for that term.

Thus it's supposed to be a tool to accurately give you the "open" niches. I'm just curious if it REALLY works like that in the real world. Maybe I need some Micronichers.. lol

Backlinks is only 1 of many factors in landing on page 1.

In short, there is a high probability will not land on pg 1 if you get 2 backlinks.

Hmm, I've never used Micro Nice Finder, but I can say this.

2 links from PR 9 .GOV sites would clearly outrank even 10 links from spammy wordpress sites.

So even though it says 2, who knows how many it will actually take.

My best advice is to start building links 10-15 at a time, and see how it goes. It's not like 10-15 links is hard to build with all the resources we have here.

  • There is really no way to know. It all depends on your site structure, backlinks, content, and many other factors.

    Sorry I can't help more.

If you want to see how many back links are on your competitors sites then use yahoo site explorer and Backlinks Checker Tool - Backlink Watch and it does matter what that software tells you.

When you promote your content you don't just submit 2 back links and wait and hope you get a top rankings

You want to start building back links and promoting your content for that term and do not stop until you achieve top rankings.

No, I doubt whether 2 links are going to help you, in spite of your competitor appearing to have 2 links.

Understand a fact - there is no tool in the world (including Google) that can tell you the exact number of backlinks. What you get is an approximation. So in reality you ought to expect maybe 10-100 backlinks even if your tool says 2 backlinks. That is the reality I have found so far.

Another thing is that, how good is the authority of the site you checked?

If I was in your place, I would just take the top 5-10 and check the number and quality (Page Rank) of each of the backlinks that each of these sites have and then make a call. I would in fact take the first couple of pages from the top of the second page of Google. Most people under-rate this but it is important in reality.

Top List of SEO Tools for webmasters and link builders | www.1UP-SEO.com

Believe me, linkdiagnosis.com beats any of those by a long shot. I made a list above with some really good SEO tools. Yahoo site explorer is not reliable, imho because it counts dupes.

No, you are wrong. You assumes that the site that appears on the top have earned that spot due to those two backlinks. It's wrong. There are some factors other than that, I mean other than those two backlinks. So you can beat that site with more having more than 2 backlinks provided that you fulfill the other criteria for your site.
