Single Anchor Text Variation - Does it Work?

Contrary to the popular belief. I have seen many sites, even in year 2010 that rank well with only single anchor text variation.

Do single anchor text variation work? Kinda confused because a lot of gurus oppose againsnt it.

as with anything, there will be a variety of opinions and thus, you should test for yourself. a reasonable conclusion might be that it would look somewhat unusual to google if every single link to your site had the identical anchor text. maybe add a few variations of your anchor text, even an occasional url link

According to me single anchor text will not helps you in getting good serp, google will consider it as a spam, you should use differenr different anchor text to get good serp
