Free Press Release, will it really help to build backlinks for your Sites?

Hello Members,

I'm working with a press release website. The reason behind why we started the site was (we four people are working on it, owned by another guy) thinking that press release sites will help to build backlinks and so we can easily do something with the site.

Its been a month after the service has been started. But till the day the maximum visitors we had a day is 200-220 . We all are doing everything to let the site reached to every webmasters. I don't know what's missing.

For the link building purpose we offered even a live keyword link to the website with all the news submissions for free of cost unlike the other releases.

But now I doubt whether people really consider or interested in PRs as a source of link building or not. Can anybody make it clear? Can a press release help with search engine optimization if there are links with the news??

thanks for your time! Have a very nice day!

Press releases are good for link building, since they have a high chance of being picked by Google News, or be featured in the news section for some keywords.

I believe this is a good project to work on. I mean once your site grown popular, you will see more webmasters submitting contents to your site. Provided that you don't have to pay anything for the contents they post, your site literally receives hundreds of PRs free of cost, and their chance of being picked up by google is actually your chance to drive visitors and present them some ads (if you are monetizing through ads though).

Quite a few of the free press release services are already doing good, so I believe with the amount of work you are putting into it, you will succeed too.

We've seen it only go well for referral traffic only - as far as ppl backlinking to us - yes, that works as well. However, them backlinking really didn't move our sites up in the SERPs.

Free press releases directories allows you to submit your inbound links with the release you are submitting. If you have an informative release, certainly you will have the more chances to get the organic search for your website, which could let you for higher SERP.

People are interested in press releases for backlinks and of course all the exposure they get. But before people will even think about submitting to your site they will look at things such as:

    - Your site size
    - Your site's PR
    - Your site age
    - Your site's backlinks

If your site doesn't have much weight then they won't bother spending time and money on submitting a PR to your site. It's just a lot of work without enough benefits.

The reason why everyone loves PRWeb is because of how powerful a link from that site is and how much exposure it gets...

Scott Rankin, you really have some point. I think this is the reason behind 'the pretty low' traffic. The site is very new and yet to get ranks. Hmmm... don't know when it will be in the right track. But we are getting submissions there. I think there must be good work to make the site explored. After that things may be easy. I'm not sure about this. What you say? Excuse me If I'm wrong.

Nm I see it in your signature. I would have recommended buying a domain with some age, but too late for that. Have you thought of getting word out to guys here like daniel tan who do a lot of work with press releases for link building. They might include your site in their wso, that would get you a lot of traffic and help you build up.

Friend, it was just because we've decided to start with a complete new domain name. And after all, the domain resellers are asking damn high prices. As we are offering a free service, we didn't think that would be worth. Thats why did so.. But its moving up..
