Why Is My New Blog Not Ranking For The Theme Keyword?

Good Morning Warriors.

I set up another new site recently (2wk ago). Once I type in the FULL site name on Google it seems to find it, however after checking GoogleRankings.com I do not get any ranking for my main theme keyword

I am using a WP Blog on hosted domain name that is my theme keyword so I do not know what the problem is. I have used Traffic-Bug, Social Bookmarking, Web-2.0, Articles etc pointing back to my site in order for it to get indexed and some backlinks, however still no joy. The article which got published this week is currently sitting on page 3 on Google so i'm beginning to build links to the Article via bookmarking and hopefully get to page 1. My Squidoo lens is also having problems getting ranked too. I'm at a loss to what the problem is. The content on the Articles, My Blog, Web 2.0 is unique.

Any ideas

It could be for a number of reasons and the first one being that you might be overdoing it. Your whole backlinking campaign should be random, natural "looking" and about quality rather than quantity.

How you go about finding quality backlinks is the hard part and is very dependent on how good the content you want backlinks for is.

    1. How competitive is the keyword that you are going for?
    2. How much variance is there in your anchor text?
    3. Are your promotional articles totally unique or spun versions?
    4. Do you have backlinks coming in from other sites?
    5. Would you consider your main content to be good link bait?
    6. Is your on page SEO good, (title, description, keyword in content, proximity, prominence etc.)
    7. Have you over optimized your on page stuff (keyword stuffing etc)
    8. Have you used related keywords in your content?

These are a few good questions to start with but it might just be you are being impatient. A brand new domain will usually rank for the obscure long tails initially until it gains trust and authority. Depending on the competitiveness of the target keyword, this takes time and patience to get there.

Yeah it takes time to index it. For you to be able to rank well for the theme keyword you chose, get more high quality backlinks from other site much better if the same theme also as your targeted keyword.
