Sitemap Not indexing. Problem?

Hi--

My sitemap submitted to Google webmaster tools is not indexing any of my URLS. My programmer has yet to figure it out. Can this affect my rankings over time? What affect, if any, does it have?

This has been going on for months. I can't get him to fix it.

    You don't need a programmer to create a sitemap file. There are numerous free tools that will automatically create your sitemaps and there are online sitemap validators that will tell you exactly what is wrong with your current sitemap.

    • Is it a Wordpress blog? If so, check the Privacy settings, you may be blocking the searchengines. Go to Settings/Privacy
  • Unless your site is rather oddly configured and doesn't have clear page to page navigation, stop dithering around with the sitemap and build links to your pages.
