Hmm, I created a blog on a PR7 website and then pinged it on pingomatic. About five minutes later, I typed my keyword phrase into Google and it is the 5th link down, the new blog post I made on the new blog... five minutes ago???

Is this actually indexed or some sort of "local" result just for me?

My blog posts on my own blog get indexed within seconds, literally. If you have a good Wordpress blog that Google seems to like, that will happen.

I agree, this happens to one of my blogs, the second I add a post, its indexed within like 15 seconds. Problem is I can't seem to replicate this on my other blogs....grrrrrrrrr!

I had a new site I put online with a new cpanel and new domain, indexed in 8 minutes the other day. I have no idea how as I had not even had time to setup any paths for Google to find it! I am still investigating to see how it happened.

Alot of times if you are using Mozilla or chrome. They take a cache of the web pages you have visited and if you view them several times in a few minutes they will actually show up in the google results. Test your search in a few other browsers and from a few different IP addresses. This has fooled me in the past. I was number 1 in like a half hour and got all excited but there wasnt any traffic so i dug deeper and it turns out that the browsers themselves can play tricks on you.,

In some cases though you can be indexed very fast especially if you are an established web page or you are using social bookmarking. Don't get me wrong but a lot of cases it turns out to be your browser

    Hope this helps you out

I am glad I came across this. A while back I had noticed one of my articles ranked pretty well on Firefox (which I use on a regular basis), but then noticed it wasn't anywhere to be found on IE. I couldn't figure this out. Now I know!

Google does index some websites e.g warrior forum. Google indexes it so fast, that I changed something on classified with hours ago may be 2-3 then it was shown on its result.

The short answer is...YES...it's quite possible.

Funny how sometimes the "game" is such a struggle compared to other times when it seems like Google is our best friend

To answer a question above. Wordpress automatically pings your post upon publishing it. That's why it can see your site without linking to it.

I also thinks gives extra love to blogs with lots of comments on it as it gives it an idea of its popularity.

If we submit on social bookmarking, that's mean we got index through others, not self domain indexing.
So, need to focus on linkbuilding 1st.

  • I agree with my fellow canadian warrior andrew...

You should always clear your cache/everything in your browser. Close it down, and check again. Different IP's help too... But usually just clearing the cache works pretty well..

  • oh, and as for making a brand new site, and being indexed asap, you may have just lucked out and had google bots crawling your neighborhood/niche at that moment. bad news is, now you have to wait for them to come back and check your content... sad day. but, patience young grasshoppers...

It's still there in Google, so is my website it's linking to which has been #2 in Google for two weeks since I launched it, it did get crawled the day I made it, Big G bot hasn't been back yet LOL. However, my site is #1 in Yahoo, but nowhere to be found in Bing.

The blgo/profile that got index super fast in Google was made on Salon.com, it's a PR8, so I guess Big G hangs around a lot.
